Nate Garrett 6’5″ SW IL Jets 17U: I have been very impressed with the continued development of this 2020 wing from Hazelwood Central. Last year when I watched him, he was a good defensive player who could slash and get buckets on the drive. He has now developed into a three-level scorer who can handle the ball and knock down 3-pointers. His size and skill level makes him a nice prospect to watch over the summer.
Ray’Sean Taylor 6’1″ Gateway (IL) 17U: A talented point guard from Collinsville, IL in the metro St. Louis area, Taylor is a skilled southpaw who can control his game with his ability to facilitate and get buckets. He is tough to keep out of the lane when he starts to get downhill, where he can finish or draw fouls. He can score in traffic and on pull up jumpers and his 3-point game has improved as well. He’s one of the best point guards in the St. Louis area.
David Roberts 6’1″ SW IL Jets 17U: A fierce 2020 wing player who put in work on both ends of the floor with equal zeal. He has a strong body who likes to slash to the basket and score through contact at the rim. He also displayed a much improve stroke from 3-point range which has complimented his slashing game. On defense, he was not afraid to pick up his man in the backcourt and harass him from one end of the court to the other.
Zachary Patterson 6’2″ Missouri Elite 17U: A 2020 guard from Trinity Catholic who showed well in helping his team to the semifinals in the 17U division. He displayed a lot of confidence on the offensive end, where he drained a number of 3-pointers and also hit some shots off the dribble. He has good size and solid handles. He is poised to be a bigger factor for the Titans as a senior after playing a reserve role last season.
Jaden Winfield 6’4″ SW IL Jets Blue 16U: A skilled and talented wing player from Chaminade with good size and a very high basketball IQ. He has a good basketball body and explosive leaping ability, much like his father Julian Winfield, a former Mizzou standout. Jaden has good handles, a good feel for passing and making teammates better, plus he can get buckets as three levels. His upside is still pretty high.
Hunter Perry 6’3″ Missouri Basketball Club 17U: A slashing wing player from Clayton High who had a nice day on Sunday in helping his team to the 17U semifinals. There’s no secret as to what he’s going to do when he gets the ball. He’s taking it to the basket aggressively. It doesn’t matter because he’s determined and he finishes well when he gets there. He can also post up and take advantage of his size to score against smaller defenders.
Ethan Lattimore 5’9″ Larry Hughes Basketball Academy 16U: A 2020 point guard from Vianney who had an excellent performance in the championship game as LBHA finished as the tourney runners-up. He is a pass first point guard who does an excellent job of getting the ball to his teammates in their comfort zones to get buckets. He also broke loose for a double figure scoring game in the finals with pull up jumpers and 3-pointers.
