One out of those twenty-four teams will be the AOT Running Rebels, who finished out their EYBL regular season with an 8-5 overall record while going a fantastic 4-1 during the last session in Dallas, Texas this past weekend.
The Running Rebels make their way back to the Nike Peach Jam tournament for the second straight season. Going into this last session, AOT needed at least three wins and maybe even more to secure a spot in the Nike Peach Jam field. The mission was a success as they won four straight games to begin the weekend before dropping their last game against Mokan Elite (KS).
Their run was without a doubt led by 2020 SG Brandon Boston Jr. of Norcross High School who averaged 27.6 points per game in their five matchups over the weekend. The 6-foot-7 wing was just on another level this past weekend and his stellar play helped the Running Rebels punch their ticket to North Augusta, South Carolina.
As for the Georgia Stars, who won the Nike Peach Jam back in 2015, they will continue their EYBL post season at the Peach Invitational in Augusta, Georgia during the NCAA live period in July, not too far from the Nike Peach Jam event. Unfortunately, the Stars went winless in Dallas, Texas, which just pushed their chances back on making Peach Jam even further. 2020 SG Nahiem Alleyne continued his eye-opening play during the weekend averaging 18.8 points per game. The Georgia Stars ended their Nike EYBL regular season with a 4-9 overall record.
