Both the Stars and Running Rebels had solid sessions back in Indianapolis two weeks ago. Their solid play led both programs to an overall 4-4 record through two sessions and sixth in their division.
This year’s Nike EYBL regular season was scheduled a little different due to the NCAA’s live period recruiting schedule. Instead of four sessions, like previous years, only three sessions will be played. This weekend’s last session, in Dallas, Texas, every team will play a total of five games to end their regular season.
The Georgia Stars, who have been led by 2020 SG Nahiem Alleyne, one of the nation’s top breakout prospects, will face All Ohio Red (OH), Team Takeover (DC), Team WhyNot (CA), Brad Beal Elite (MO), and Team Durant (DC). Four out of the five teams are either .500 or better and it will be a tough weekend for the Georgia Stars. For a spot at the Nike Peach Jam, they will have to finish this weekend at least with a 3-2 record.
The AOT Running Rebels, who have been led by their dynamic duo of 2020 PG Sharife Cooper and 2020 SG Brandon Boston Jr., will face Albany City Rocks (NY), Team United (NC), The Family (MI), Boo Williams (VA), and Mokan Elite (KS). Three out of the five teams have an overall record of 6-2 coming into Dallas, so the Running Rebels certainly need to be on their “A” game if they want to make another return to North Augusta, South Carolina.
