Quincy Edwards, 2021*, VABA Bruins
Quincy Edwards is a shifty point guard that can get up and down the court. He’s a solid defender that looks to generate easy plays from his defense. With his other guards in the backcourt, he does a good job distributing the ball to them for good looks.
- *Error correction: Quincy is a 2021 prospect.
Sihke Mthethwa, 2022, VABA Bruins
Sihke Mthethwa is a sharpshooting combo guard with room to improve. He opened the weekend with seven made 3-pointers and 23 points in his VABA Bruins opening victory over the Southside Ballers. He’s a player that’s emerging as a solid prospect from behind the arc and developing his game off the dribble.
Tucker Raymond, 2022, VABA Bruins
Tucker Raymond was one of the more productive reserves for the VABA Bruins this past weekend. He’s another sharpshooter for the VABA Bruins and in their games this past weekend, he averaged at least two 3-point makes across their three games. He’s an emerging wing at 6-foot-2 to keep an eye on.
Maliq Brown, 2022, Team Loaded VA
Maliq Brown was one of the impressive bigs from this weekend with his ability to finish above the rim and defend with his size. Brown is a big man with tons of potential on both ends with his ability to finish strong in the paint. He had a number of big dunks and finishes that led his squad to victory.
Justin Taylor, 2022, Team Loaded VA
Justin Taylor is a versatile wing prospect coaches will want to keep an eye on. He’s got a nice floor game that allows him to take the midrange or shoot it from 3. He’s got an edge about him that he’s slowly starting to figure out and as he does, expect for some major offers to start flowing in.
D.J. Hand, 2022, Team Loaded VA
D.J. Hand is a young floor general and the son of UVA legend Donald Hand. Hand is a long guard that can finish strong in the paint. He doesn’t try to overdo things with his dribble and utilizes his star power around him well. As he develops as a shooter, look for his stock to grow.
Cameron Dorner, 2022, Mid-Atlantic Select UA Rise
Cameron Dorner had a productive weekend for his Mid-Atlantic Select squad at the lead guard position. He scored and facilitated with ease in the 15U division and is one prospect to keep an eye on if coaches are looking for a player with edge.
