2020 KY Class: Current D1 Offers
As the 2019 AAU season is trucking on, some of the top unsigned upcoming seniors are beginning to turn their dreams into a reality. Currently, no 2020 prospect in Kentucky has signed/committed to a D1 program, making the recruiting process enjoyable for the state to follow along with. There is also the broad spectrum of players who are hovering around 10 major/mid-major offers to players who are just now receiving their first offers. Below is a list of 2020 prospects with D1 offers and interests…
Justin Powell – North Oldham HS/Indy Heat AAU: after completing his junior season with prestigious Monteverde Academy (FL), Justin is returning to Kentucky to finish his senior year of high school. Making him the overall #1 player in the 2020 KY class. Due to his stellar play this summer, he is beginning to pick up interest from the perennial “Blue Bloods” and other high major D1 schools. This just adding to his arsenal of D1 offers, below is who has offered this top guard as of 5/11/19. (8 D1 offers)
- SEC: Auburn, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Georgia, Kentucky (Interest)
- ACC: Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Louisville (Interest), Syracuse (Interest)
- American: Cincinnati
- Big East: Xavier
- B10: Purdue (Interest)
Jackson Sivills – McCracken County HS/Hoop Dreams AAU: Jackson has already proven himself in the KHSAA and the AAU Circuit. He began receiving D1 offers as a junior in high school and hasn’t slowed down since, he currently has the most offers out of the 2020 KY class. As this AAU season wraps up and his senior campaign begins, look for Sivills to pick up interest from more major D1 schools instead of mainly mid-majors. (13 D1 offers)
- OVC: Belmont, Murray State, Jacksonville State, UT Martin
- ASUN: Florida Gulf Coast, Liberty, Lipscomb
- Southern: Wofford, Samford
- A10: Saint Louis
- CUSA: Rice
- MAC: Kent State
- Horizon: Northern Kentucky
- ACC: Louisville (Interest)
- Big East: Butler (Interest)
- B12: Iowa State (Interest)
Dayvion McKnight – Collins HS/MATTS Mustangs AAU: Dayvion finally began receiving interest from D1 programs after a stellar high school season statistically wise. His game translated over to the AAU season where his recruiting process really picked up. Ive been able to see him play multiple times over the past two years, any D1 school should jump on this guard and offer him early. (7 D1 offers)
- CUSA: Western Kentucky, Middle Tennessee State
- MAC: Ball State, Kent State
- OVC: Murray State
- Big South: Winthrop
- Horizon: Cleveland State
- SEC: Texas A&M (Interest), Ole Miss (Interest)
- B12: Iowa State (Interest)
- AAC: Temple (Interest)
Kenny White – Madisonville-North Hopkins HS/Manimal Elite AAU: Kenny had an outstanding KHSAA State Tournament appearance which really kicked up his recruiting process. This 6’7 Wing has the upside to be one if not the best players in the KY 2020 class. D1 schools will be kicking themselves if they do not jump on White early, his ceiling is unlimited. He currently has four D1 offers and I’m sure it will increase as the AAU season concludes and his senior season begins where MNH is looking to make another strong appearance at Rupp.
- OVC: Morehead State, Southeast Missouri State
- Southern: Samford
- MVC: Evansville
JJ Traynor – Bardstown HS/Louisville Legends AAU: JJ just received his first college offer the other night after a great AAU season so far. Regarded as the #2 big man in the KY 2020 class, he is looking to claim the title as the best F in his class. He is beginning to see an increase in his recruiting process as programs are beginning to realize his upside.
- CUSA: Western Kentucky
- MVC: Missouri State (Interest)
Marcellus Vail – Collins HS/MATTS Mustangs AAU: Collins HS is home to the most anticipated guard duo in the state. By the time the 2019-2020 season kicks off, both of these players will have many D1 offers to bring to the table. Vail’s recruiting process isn’t going as fast as his teammate McKnights’s is, but I expect him to gather a couple more mid-majors as his AAU season wraps up. He currently only has one D1 offer.
- MAC: Kent State
Marques Warrick – Henry Clay HS/Manimal Elite AAU: Henry Clay HS really took the city of Lexington by storm last season. They defeated favorites Scott County to claim the title as the best team in Lexington. Warrick really delivered for his team last year but has flown under-the-radar as a Division 1 prospect. He is looking to increase those offers in the upcoming months. Currently owns one D1 offer.
- ASUN: NJIT
Ksuan Casey – Madisonville-North Hopkins HS/Hoop Dreams AAU: Ksuan is the #1 Center in our KY 2020 class and this big man is looking to shine at Rupp Arena as Madisonville is my favorite to take the crown next season. Casey only has one D1 offer, but surely will begin to pick up interest as his frame is really hard to pass up.
- MVC: Evansville
