These players have played well up to this point and some breakout games could get them to that next level. Everyone enjoys watching players grow confidence and have it translate to the court.
Trey Bonham (Team Carroll)- Bonham has played extremely well for Team Carroll. He’s the best ball handler and floor general on the team. Bonham has competed at a high level and produce numbers across the board. If this point guard continues his upward trend, he could break into the top 10 for the 2020 class.
Tyler Lang (Alabama Fusion)- Tyler Lang has played out of position for the Fusion, but he has played very well. The 6’6 wing has shown off his athleticism, rebounding ability, and his shot making ability. You can tell Lang is a team fist player. Look for this kid to continue being a key “glue” guy for the Fusion.
Jaylon Stevenson (JBA Jayhawks)- Stevenson is a physical undersized wing. At 6’2 he has ideal size for playing the 2, but he can guard 1-3. This kid embraces contact and is not afraid to bang on the glass. Stevenson has improved his ability to score at all 3 levels, but his bread and butter is getting downhill.
Zane Nelson (Hawks Elite)- At the SSI over the weekend, Nelson showed off his shooting ability. This kid was on fire from deep. He is an underrated athlete and has some shiftiness. If Nelson continues to shoot the ball at a high level, the 6’2 combo guard will be someone to continue watching.
Hayden Lamey (JBA Jayhawks)- Lamey is a must watch. He is a very efficient 3 level scorer, and the kid is not afraid of the big moment. Lamey is 6’3 and has improved his playmaking ability. He rebounds well and guards 1-3. This kid needs to be on teams’ radar.
Sedrick Pettway (Alabama Celtics)- Pettway has really good perimeter size at 6’5. He has carried the scoring load for the Celtics through the opening weeks of play. This kid scores at all 3 levels, and he bothers opponents with his length defensively.
Camron Scott (Steel City Gators)- Scott is another 6’5 long armed wing. He is a very good defensive player and is a very good passer. He has improved offensively, but he still needs to work on his shooting. This kid has played well, but being more consistent will help him take that next step.
