Kentucky
Pierre Petit-Frere – 5’10 – Charlotte Court – 2021
Pierre Petit-Frere was one guard on the 16U circuit that showed off his floor game for Charlotte Court. He scored 14 points on three 3-pointers against B Maze Elite, showing off his ability to score on all three levels. With his speed and ability to create off the dribble, he’s a prospect that deserves a look from coaches at the next level.
Clay Carpenter – 6’3 – Charlotte Court – 2021
Clay Carpenter is an emerging wing prospect that can shoot it from behind the arc and create off the dribble. Carpenter isn’t shy about getting his nose dirty for rebounds, either, an added trait. He was a main scoring option alongside Pierre Petit-Frere for much of the weekend. He finished with a game-high 18 points in the final game of the weekend.
Sam Campbell – 6’2 – Kentucky Ambition – 2021
Sam Campbell was one of the bright spots in the backcourt for Kentucky Ambition on the 16U level. Campbell put up 17 points including a game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer against Team Hustle and opened the weekend with 25 points on four made 3’s and a number of mid-range shots. He’s a 6-foot-2 guard with a wiry frame and long arms that can score on all three levels. He’s a very capable player at the next level.
Baylor Mattingly – 5’11 – Kentucky Ambition – 2021
Baylor Mattingly was the point guard for Kentucky Ambition’s 16U squad and showed off his prowess as consummate floor general and shooter. He opened pool play with a strong 11 points on three made 3-pointers then followed that up with an 18-point effort against Team Hustle with another three made 3-pointers. He can score on all three levels and is a high IQ prospect.
Zavian Jackson – 6’2 – Kentucky Ambition – 2021
Zavian Jackson is a wing prospect to keep an eye out for. He’s an aggressive slasher and rebounder that finished the weekend strong behind his backcourt of Baylor Mattingly and Sam Campbell. He’s got a nice wingspan and length for his size. He finished with 14 points against B Maze Elite’s squad to close out the weekend.
Virginia
Jaheim Niblett – 6’5 – Team Xplosion – 2021
Jaheim Niblett is an emerging wing prospect that showed versatility with his ability to play on the interior. He isn’t shooting 3-pointers just yet but he’s got a nice floor game with his ability to create shots off the ability and in the post. Niblett opened the weekend with 16 points, all 2-point field goals in the opening game. He’s certainly a next-level prospect.
Josh Morse – 6’5 – VABA Bruins – 2021
Josh Morse is an aggressive slasher on the wing for the VABA Bruins. His ability was on full display all weekend whether in the halfcourt or off the break as he scored 20+ points in two of their three contest in Big Shots Mountain Mayhem. Every time he touches the ball, good things happen. He scored 27 points against B Maze Elite in an upset victory in pool play and finished the weekend with 22 points in a 55-54 loss to the Alabama Celtics in the 16U Gold Championship.
Landon Swingler – 6’6 – VABA Bruins – 2021
Landon Swingler was another VABA Bruins player that had a big weekend at Big Shots Mountain Mayhem. He put up 16.7 points per game this weekend, showing off his ability on the interior. He’s a solid forward that can rebound and play the wing as well. With his versatility, he’s a prospect with tons of potential at the next level.
Andrew Shifflet – 6’0 – VABA Bruins – 2021
Andrew Shifflet held down the guard duties in the backcourt for the VABA Bruins. He scored 12 points in the opening game against B Maze Elite, including two made 3-pointers. He’s a savvy playmaker with the ball in his hands and got his frontcourt mates the ball often and in the right spots time and time again. He’s a confident point guard that should get looks for the next level.
