Malik Abdul-Wahid – 2020 – F – Ray Allen Select
We saw some great flashes from Abdul-Wahid early this spring and are eager for more. A raw, but budding talent, Abdul-Wahid has intriguing size, length, and versatility. He’s growing comfortable as an attacker off the bounce, which makes him a potential mismatch nightmare. Like we saw from Donovan Ivory and Quintin Winterfeldt last spring/summer, Abdul-Wahid could play his way to the Division 2 level and be a potential jackpot pickup if he develops down the road.
Grant Asman – 2021 – F – Pack Attack
Asman’s development will be interesting to watch. The Kimberly product didn’t play much varsity ball as a sophomore, but has impressed in the AAU circuit over the last year. The 6-foot-7 forward needs to pack on weight, but has a chance to develop into a mismatch problem. Asman can shoot and handle the basketball and is also a strong shot blocking presence.
Quentin Bolton – 2021 – F – Phenom University NY2LA
A player we don’t know a ton about, Bolton averaged a team-best 12.2 points and 9.7 rebounds per game as a sophomore. A strong, athletic forward that can control the paint, Bolton also has some intriguing skills as a ball handler and slasher that we’re eager to monitor this weekend.
Andrew Alia – 2022 – SG – Wisconsin Playground Club White
We haven’t had a chance to see Alia in action much, but feel he might be underrated in the class of 2022 rankings. A quality shooter from all over the floor that can play both guard spots, Alia has the creativity off the dribble to be a big playmaker for his team. At 6-foot-2, Alia also has the size and length to be a deadly scorer in the coming years.
Carter Capstran – 2021 – PF – Wisconsin Swing
Capstran is a big, physical forward with a good shooting touch. He can bang on the block, but also score from mid-range or fading away from the basket. The Franklin standout is off to a good start this spring and we’re eager to see how he does on a national level.
Jordan Jahnke – 2022 – PF Wisconsin Playground Club Black
Jahnke wasn’t in action at the Rock Spring Classic so we’ll get eyes on him for the first time since he was an eighth grader. Last we saw, Jahnke is a bouncy forward who can make highlight plays at the rim. Jahnk averaged about five points per game as a freshman on the varsity squad last season.
Isaac Lindsey – 2020 – SG – Wisconsin Swing
We all know Lindsey is skilled enough for the high major level. He knows and every high major program recruiting him knows he’s got to show he can score against high level athletes. For whatever reason, the Swing were placed in one of the weaker brackets, meaning they’ll likely open the playoffs against All-Ohio Red or Indiana Elite.
Kamari McGee – 2021 – PG – Wisconsin Sharks
Another guy we want to see flex his muscles on the big stage, McGee has been very good this spring, but has often been the best player on the floor. We’re looking at the Racine St. Catherine’s guard as a potential top 10 player in the 2021 class. McGee has the measurables and basketball IQ to be a Division 1 talent.
Marcellus Taliaferro – 2020 – F – Wisconsin Playground Club
A prospect that definitely looks the part, Taliaferro is an athletic, 6-foot-7 forward. The junior forward averaged nearly eight points per game on a loaded lineup and is thought to be starting to scratch the surface of his high upside.
Brennan Timm – 2021 – SF – Wisconsin Rap
We got a glimpse of Timm last summer and really liked what we saw in some big wins. Timm only played in six games as a sophomore for West Bend West after tearing his meniscus, averaging 8.2 ppg. The 6-foot-4 forward is a terrific slasher and finisher against contact. He was cleared to play last week and Wisconsin Rap will ease him back slowly this weekend.
