We must give a shout out to Duane Pittman and his staff for a very well ran event, and we look forward to being back again next season. Over the next few days we will highlight some of the players and teams that we got the chance to see as some prospects and teams are ones that we should keep an eye on for the future.
The Royal Knights are forreal! We have seen this organization for years now and they do a great job of getting kids to the next level by playing the right way. They compete on the defensive end of the floor, are very unselfish, well coached, and definitely have some players that can play on the next level without a doubt.
Wilson Elite & Greenfield School Tre Pittman is definitely one that should be on your list if you’re a D2 program looking for a skilled forward. You can play him at the SF or PF spot as he is about 6’7, he can shoot the deep ball well and can make plays off the catch and dribble. We have seen him over the last two months and he’s played well in both situations, and is one to keep a close eye on for the remainder of the summer.
NC Breakers Senior Forward CK Everett is a fan favorite just about everywhere he goes and rightfully so, once you see how high he gets off the floor. If there is a player that jumps higher than this young man, I will have to personally see for myself, he is constantly throwing down monster dunks, blocking shots, and plays with a motor that you have to love. Some JC programs have reached out to him showing interest and he seems very much undecided at this point so we will have to wait and see how things go.
Royal Knights & Henderson Collegiate 2020 Guard Kalib Matthews is a player that D1 &D2 programs have been on and rightfully so. Matthews is a player that we have watched on numerous occasions and his potential to be a special player is clear, he has a high skillset and plenty of tools that you like to see from a guard. He can beat players off the dribble, knock down shots and is a very impressive defender that uses his wingspan and lateral quickness.
East Coast Elite younger age groups have some really nice talent, we saw teams as young as 4th grade with youngsters doing some special things on the floor. As we know, the majority of the time, players begin their career on the local level and it’s a testament to how hard these coaches work as the players develop and some times move on to sneaker circuits. We like what we have seen from this group in all aspects and we know that there will once again be some talented players coming out of their program.
