Norfolk Legacy 2022 Kaytron Allen: Absolutely dominate in the game that we watched him play, he has a physique like a football player but is agile and has a great feel for the game. He scored it well but one of the more impressive attribute about his game was how well he found teammates with his passes, very impressive showing.
Royal Knights Sophomore Guard Khris Franklin: On the offensive side of the ball we didn’t see a ton from him, however he still managed to help his squad on the defensive side of the ball. Constantly applying pressure while defending without reaching too often, he has good lateral quickness and understands how to defend.
Hunt HS Freshman Guard Ty’Chaun Clay is one to keep an eye on over the next few years, he already is logging some major minuets on the varsity level and will only get better over time. His older brother had a nice career at Greene Central a few years back and played ball on the JC level, so the basketball skills run in his blood. He’s a quicker guard that can get it done on both ends, getting past defenders offensively while using that same speed to come up with steals.
NC Hustle Freshman Guard Chase Fillyaw: Long wingspan, with a smooth shooting stroke that plays the game at how own pace. Confidence and staying aggressive throughout is the key for the next step in his progression, however he made some plays and knocked down some shots to help his squad.
NC Hustle Sophomore Guard RJ King: He’s the real deal from what we have seen the past two occasions that we watched him play. Scoring the ball is something that seems to come pretty natural to him, he has a long wingspan which leads us to think that he will grow some more before it’s all said and done. At the start of the game, he scored all 10 points for the squad but seemed to suffer from some fatigue as time went on.
UBE Junior Guard Kentrell Johnson: Certain players play the game with a confidence and competitive edge that makes their entire team turn into believers and that was exactly the case in this situation. He did a bit of everything for his squad, they started off slow so he provided a good portion of their offensive scoring, knocking down some tough shots that were highly contested.
GTE Senior Guard DaShaun Ballard: He provided a huge amount of scoring for his team as they were undermanned but his scoring helped to keep things interesting. He’s what we would call a versatile scorer, he can bang inside the paint but displayed some nice ballhandling skills and a smooth jump shot. If his team scored 60 points, he had to account for at least 35 points, so you can tell he is a talented player offensively.
