South Central HS PG Shykeim Phillips: He averaged just under 17 PPG this season and took on a lesser of a scoring role on quite a few occasions to get his team, that was loaded with talent, involved. Regardless his ability to score the ball at a high level is obvious, he breaks down defenses without much issue and cam score from each level. At this point his recruitment has featured Mid Major and Low Major programs so far with school such as: UNCA, WCU, Elon, Towson, SC State and Kent State all extending offers.
Trinity Christian PG Talton Jones: The route that he most likely will need to take is the JC route for the next two year which will give him time to work a few things out and boost his recruitment back up. With that being the case, you have to like the fact that he’s a bigger guard who looks to get others involved. He doesn’t try to be something that he’s not, instead making the proper plays offensively and bringing the intensity on defense which has earned him respect as one of the top on ball defenders in the area.
Athens Drive PG DJ Robertson: One of the players that recently made his way back on the boards of available prospect, Robertson is a guard that is quick and crafty. He doesn’t need much space to operate, he’s seen all types of defensive pressure and matchups over the years so he is one that we expect to transition to the next level well. His ability to score the ball has never been in question, just take a look at his 23 PPG numbers this year and you can see why.
Millbrook HS PG Phillip Burwell: His recruitment is beginning to pick up some pace and rightfully so, he is a player that can score the ball in bunches but is far from a one dimensional guy. Running a team, playing within the flow of an offense, defending and being coachable are all things that you will see from him. He’s running this summer with WCBA as an unsigned senior as he hopes to gain some more interest and offers, finished the high school season averaging 15 Points and 5 Assist per game.
Wakefield HS PG Elijah Shabazz: His scoring numbers won’t scream at you but he is the type of PG that can give you triple double type numbers at any given moment. Scoring, Rebounding and Assist are all areas where you can see him make an impact, he has good size for a college level guard at about 6’5 with a good frame.
Smithfield-Selma PG Anthony Council: Initially he had committed to Fayetteville State University but due to a coach change, his recruitment has been reopened somewhat. He’s far from the biggest guard that you will see on the court but he plays with heart and has the ability to absolutely light up a score board. He averaged 26 PPG and even managed to put together a 51 Point performance this year, so his size shouldn’t be something that scares colleges off.
