C Nolan Foster (C2K – 2019)
Foster is a legit five man that for some reason remains uncommitted. Impressed with his shot blocking and skill. He told us he has an offer from Davenport. Ohio wants him as a 2020 prospect. Coastal Carolina, Air Force, and James Madison are also in the mix. He will play the spring out to see if he will go 2019 or 2020.
C David Skogman (Wisconsin Playground – 2019)
Mobile five man that has a high skill level in the 2019 class. “I am playing with Playground in Kansas City and am still looking through things. If something comes that I like I will probably jump on it.” Right now he says he holds offers from, “Buffalo, Texas Tech, and UC Irvine.” He is talking to Nebraska a lot as well although they haven’t offered yet.
PG Jalen Cone (Team Felton – 2019/2020)
Cone was so impressive over the weekend as the sub six foot point guard controlled the game with his ability to create shots for himself and others. What offers does he hold? “Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Yale. I am looking to pick up some more from schools like Louisville, Stanford, Texas A&M, and NC State.”
PG Jalen Suggs (Grassroots Sizzle – 2020)
Suggs was by far and away the best player at the UAA Session 1. The top 5 2020 prospect was dynamic on the court. Off the court his recruiting is starting to heat up. He told PrepHoops the schools prioritizing him the most are “Gonzaga, Iowa, Marquette, Minnesota, and a lot of the same schools.” Gonzaga received an official visit from him during the season and he was impressed. “I loved it. The coaching staff was great. I have a great relationship with the coaching staff. We talk almost every day. The Kennel is amazing. Sold out. Students go crazy and they have a lot of fan support. I loved my time in Spokane. I really enjoyed it and couldn’t find any negatives about it.” Suggs is also one of the top football quarterbacks in the country being pursued by the likes of Alabama, Notre Dame, and Georgia. Where do things stand between the two sports? “I will tell you it is pretty balanced. I haven’t come to a conclusion yet. I am enjoying the process. When it comes to that time to make a decision I will talk to my family and coaches and make the right one.” Suggs is getting ready to narrow things down in the near future! “In a little bit here I will start to narrow it down. I want to have a list by the end of USA Basketball whether I make the team or not. I want to narrow it down and focus on the schools that are prioritizing me and I want to prioritize.”
G Jaden Springer (B Maze Elite – 2020)
Springer was one of the highest rated prospects at the UAA event and is garnering a lot of buzz on the recruiting trail in recent weeks. “I just picked up two offers from North Carolina and Memphis.” What schools has he been hearing from that have made him feel like a priority? “Tennessee, Texas, Maryland, UNC, Memphis, NC State, Wake Forest, Auburn, and more.” What was it like to get the Tar Heels offer? “It was pretty big time. One of the best programs in college basketball. Whenever you get a scholarship offer from a school like that it is big time.” Springer took an official visit to Tennessee during the high school season. On that trip he said, “Tennessee was a great atmosphere with great people. Amazing fans and a well ran program. They had one of their best seasons this year. They are building something special.” Memphis is keeping guys in-state and they want to land this talented combo guard. “Right now Memphis is on the come up and will be one of the top schools in the country this upcoming season. They are really building a good program.” He is in no rush to make a college commitment saying, “I will probably make my decision at the end of next year. I am looking for a school where I fit in best on the court and off the court. Where I have people I can learn from.”
PG Ty Berry (KC Run GMC – 2020)
Berry is a high IQ point guard with slick handles from Kansas. He updated us on his recruitment saying he has offers from “Creighton, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas State, Mizzou, Oklahoma State, and Colorado.” He took an official to Iowa back in the fall. “I had a great time. It was fun. I love the coaching staff and the program.”
SG Dayten Holman (Oklahoma PWP – 2020)
Holman is a long and rangy two guard with upside. On the recruiting front he reports he has been in communication with, “Texas, Tennessee, and Arkansas a lot.” He holds offers from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Tulsa, Tulane, Houston, and Nevada. Holman says he will be taking an official visit to Ole Miss very soon. On Ole Miss he said, “They keep in touch a lot. They like me a lot and said they think I can change their program.”
PG Bryce Thompson (Oklahoma PWP – 2020)
Thompson is one of the more coveted point guard targets in the 2020 class. He has offers from “Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Kansas, Arkansas, Texas A&M, Colorado, TCU, and a bunch.” He has already visited quite a few schools already. “I have been to Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Kansas, Texas A&M, and Iowa.”
PG/SF Selton Miguel (Team Breakdown – 2020)
Miguel is a point forward type player that came up clutch on Friday night hitting the game winning shot. On the recruiting side of things after the game he told PrepHoops he holds offers from Kansas State, Iowa State, South Florida, James Madison, and a couple more. Schools that have shown interest, but haven’t extended a scholarship quite yet include, “Oklahoma State and Kansas.”
C Eddie Lampkin (Houston Defenders – 2020)
Lampkin is a huge body inside that has nimble footwork and a soft touch around the hoop. He says he has offers from “Georgetown, LSU, Oklahoma, TCU, Baylor, and Texas A&M.”
SG Jalen White (Houston Defenders – 2020)
White burst on our radar with a strong Friday night game where he showed a fluid and smooth offensive package shooting and scoring. He is in communication with “Utah State, Colorado State, Sam Houston State, and New Orleans.” No offers at this time which is insane to me.
SF Alex Antetokounmpo (Wisconsin Playground – 2020)
The younger brother of the Greek Freak had the best game we have seen him play on Saturday night. After the contest he updated his recruitment saying he is hearing from Bradley, Maryland, Wisconsin Green Bay, and Marquette. He holds offers from “Bradley, Wisconsin Green Bay, and DePaul.”
SG Gabriel Madsen (Wisconsin Playground – 2020)
Madsen lit it up on Saturday night for Wisconsin Playground showing an elite looking jumper along with a skilled offensive game. “Right now Toledo, Northern Iowa, Green Bay, and Wisconsin Milwaukee are all offers.” What stood out about Toledo when he visited? “I didn’t know much about Toledo when they offered. It was cool to see because I had only seen Northern Iowa before. It was nice to see another campus. It was better than I expected to be honest. All the complex was brand new. It was all right there.” How about his visits to Northern Iowa and what he likes about their program? “They have been there since the beginning. They have seen me play at my best and at my worst. They have always been there. I have a good connection with the coaches.”
