PG Bryce Thompson (Oklahoma PWP – 2020)
Thompson is a smooth operator at the point guard spot. Easy to see why many consider him among the top group of floor general in the class. This long and angular guard has easy acceleration with the ball in his hands. He scored on acrobatic layups at the cup. Nifty finisher at the rim. Likes floaters and runners over bigger defenders. Sound distributor including a sweet wrap around pass for a dime.
PG Trey Phipps (Oklahoma PWP – 2020)
Phipps is a Tulsa commit that is most effective as a three point shooting threat. Knock down three point shooter from the point guard spot. Connected on several from all over the floor in the game we watched. Flashes passing ability, but mostly is a shoot first point guard with deep range on his shot.
SG Dayten Holman (Oklahoma PWP – 2020)
Holman we were told is more effective on the ball, but played off the ball mostly with Phipps and Thompson on his team. The 6’6” junior has nice size and skill set to play at the next level. Was uber smooth taking it to the cup off the bounce where he displayed the ability to finish through contact.
PF Jalen Breath (Oklahoma PWP – 2020)
Breath at 6’8” with a long and rangy frame presents long term upside at the college level. The four man finished well on his touches including catching several difficult passes in traffic. He was most effective finishing when his guards created for him.
SF Gabriel Madsen (Wisconsin Playground – 2020)
Madsen can flat out shoot the basketball! This Wisconsin native has positional size at 6’6” along with a lights out touch from three. He made them over and over and over against Oklahoma PWP. Ultra fluid release as it looks just effortless coming off his hands. Flashed some skill as a passer and rebounds well for a wing. Went for 23 points on Saturday.
SF Alex Antetokounmpo (Wisconsin Playground – 2020)
Definitely the best game I have seen out of the Greek Freak’s little brother. Alex played with a super high energy level around the basket getting on the offensive glass for put backs. Also took it at the defense in transition with several finishes at the cup including a nice finger roll. Even hit a pair of threes which isn’t usually a specialty of his. Scored 23 points on Saturday.
C David Skogman (Wisconsin Playground – 2019)
Skogman is a 6’10” five man that will find a home in the next few weeks after the live period. He has size and mobility to match. Quick and fluid post moves on the block. He can also step out to hit a three.
PG JR Cison (Wisconsin Playground – 2019)
Cison is an Illinois prep product from Lake Zurich High School that is uncommitted and is also considering prep school options. He is a pass first lead guard that did a nice job coming off the bench setting his teammates up putting them in positions to score.
SG Ladera Obang (Canada Elite – 2020)
Obang is a physically and athletic two guard that has a burst with the ball in his hands. Converted reverse layups with regularity. When the defense backed off him he drilled corner threes at a high rate. One to watch from our neighbors to the north!
G Karim Mane (Canada Elite – 2020)
This 6’5” combo guard has great positional size and the ability to make plays at the rim. Reverse layups and other touch finishes at the cup. Also dunk on a guy in the game we caught!
PF Chris Biekeu (Canada Elite – 2020)
At 6’8” this four man is efficient with his touches on the interior. He knocked down a baseline floater and slammed one on an opponent. Tough rebounder.
C Javonte Brown (Canada Elite – 2021)
Brown stands at 6’11” with a projectable body. He is really really raw offensively, but with his size and physical upside he is one to watch.
SG Markhi Strickland (Florida Vipers – 2020)
Strickland impressed for the Florida Vipers. He has size at 6’6” to see the floor and make plays with the ball in his hands. Gets out in transition for scores. Solid runner. Played above the rim with a steal and dunk followed by another alley-oop. Even hit a three. One to track especially with his versatility on the defensive end of the floor.
SG Malachi Wideman (Florida Vipers – 2020)
Wideman is a freak show athlete! We saw him do it last summer at Elite 100 and was doing more amazing acrobatics above the rim. He only played limited minutes, but when in there he has several huge dunks crashing the offensive glass. The perimeter shot needs refinement. Also a high level wide receiver so he might go that route in college.
G Jamir Reed (Philly Pride – 2020)
Can’t forget about our Philly duo! Reed is a combo guard that can put up points in a hurry! Did just that drilling half a dozen threes en route to 21 points. Came up huge late in the game for Philly making a three every time they needed a bucket. Hit several really tough ones as well! Went for 21 points.
SF Jamil Riggins (Philly Pride – 2020)
Riggins is a bully ball three man that has a physical body. The lefty can power through opponents getting to the cup. Proved to be a more than adequate shooter from the perimeter knocking down an array of threes from the wings. Super under recruited player! He had 17 points.
SF Jordan Hall (Philly Pride – 2020)
Hall has projectability on the wing at 6’6”. He has a long and lanky frame. Can take smaller wings to the post and also scored on an out of bounds play.
G Jordan Rawls (Team Thad – 2020)
Rawls was the top player for Team Thad in our eyes on Saturday night. The athletic combo guard is so athletic around the rim. Got to the hoop and finished with a variety of acrobatic finishes and floaters. Aggressive guard that takes it right at the defense!
G Detrick Reeves (Team Thad – 2020)
Reeves played well on Sunday. The athletic combo guard can shoot it from three knocking down several from the wings. Flashed some explosiveness in the open floor.
SG Matthew Murrell (Team Thad – 2020)
Murrell is a high level athlete at the shooting guard position for Team Thad. Played above the rim with a few monster slams. Plus athlete that has a burst with the rock slashing downhill.
