Top Performers from Nike EYBL Atlanta
Nike EYBL Atlanta lived up to the hype as there was high level talent on each court. Many prospects competed this weekend at LakePoint Sports Complex to prove themselves against the best young talent in the country. Here’s who stood out:
Josh Christopher (Vegas Elite)– Josh Christopher put on a show. He thoroughly dominated the game from start to finish against a tough Nightrydas Elite team. He aggressively attacked the basket and consistently finished through contact. He event threw down a few crowd pleasing dunks in the process. Christopher finished the game with 23 points.
Cam Thomas (Boo Williams)– Cam Thomas (pictured) is an elite shot-maker. He scores very well from all three levels. His game has grown after a season at Oak Hill (VA). Thomas averaged 24 points per game during the tournament. He is a perfect complement to Zion Harmon in the backcourt, as they solidified themselves as one of the best one-two punches in the EYBL.
R.J. Hampton (Drive Nation)– R.J. Hampton plays with a high motor. He brings high energy whenever he touches the floor. Hampton is an athletic slasher who finishes very well above the rim. He scored most of his points in transition but managed to hit a few shots from deep as well. Hampton managed to shoot 17 free throws and scored a game-high 41 points in a loss to Phenom University (WI).
Sharife Cooper (AOT)- Cooper continued to wow college coaches with his guard skills. His change of pace, quickness, and shooting ability make him one of the best guards in the country. He finished with an impressive 35 points in a loss to Alabama Fusion.
Scottie Barnes (Nightrydas Elite)– Barnes struggled early but picked it up in the second half against Vegas Elite. His length and finishing ability could benefit any team at the next level. At 6’9, Barnes has a superb handle and floor vision. It should be interesting to see where he lands in the near future.
