Continue ReadingAs we finish out the school year with some seniors still playing club ball and into the April live period, let’s look at which players may make the biggest impact next year for different skills. Some have it all, but most are specialists. We start off with the Top-5 shooters in the senior class in the AIA from 2A-6A. If I missed a player, it just means I have never seen him before. Some of the players had 0 stats or incomplete stats, so it’s solely on the eye test.
Qualifications: Each player had to make at least 50 3pt shots or more to be on the list, at least 30% from the 3pt line, at least 70% from the FT line and at least 40% from the field (FG%).
Almost all of these players had high percentages in every category.
1. Josh Baker McClintock (Hutch CC commit)
Baker was 51% 3pt line and 83% from the FT line while making 91 3’s and 53% from the field earning him #1 shooter.
2. Trent Brown Pinnacle
Brown was 41% 3pt line and 87% from the FT line while making 92 3’s and a 47% from the field earning him #2 shooter.
3. Nico Mannion Pinnacle (Arizona commit)
Mannion was 33% 3pt line and 85% from the FT line while making 92 3’s and a whopping 51% from the field earning him #3 shooter.
4. Carter Murphy Arcadia (Air Force commit)
Murphy was 41% 3pt line and 82% from the FT line while making 63 3’s and a 47% from the field earning him #4 shooter.
5. Jalen Williams Perry (Santa Clara commit)
-Unfortunately Williams has 0 stats anywhere, but just from the eye test, he is clearly one of the best shooters in the entire state.

Salazar was 43% 3pt line and 83% from the FT line while making 66 3’s and a 45% from the field earning him #6 shooter.
2. Khalid Price Mountain Pointe
Price was 42% 3pt line and 81% from the FT line while making 64 3’s and a 43% from the field earning him #7 shooter.
3. Emmanuel Taban Apollo
Taban was 39% 3pt line and 79% from the FT line while making 74 3’s and a 46% from the field earning him #8 shooter.
4. Jaelen House Shadow Mountain (ASU commit)
House was 38% 3pt line and 77% from the FT line while making 73 3’s and a 45% from the field earning him #9 shooter.
5. Skylar Certo SG Notre Dame Prep
Certo was 35% 3pt line and 82% from the FT line while making 63 3’s and a 43% from the field earning him #10 shooter.

1. Chase Verdugo Walden Grove
Verdugo was 37% 3pt line and 83% from the FT line while making 72 3’s and a 43% from the field earning him #11 shooter.
2. Jared Clark Pusch Ridge
Clark was 37% 3pt line and 75% from the FT line while making 77 3’s and a 43% from the field earning him #12 shooter.
3. Zach Hobbs Mesa
Hobbs was 31% 3pt line and 82% from the FT line while making 65 3’s and a 43% from the field earning him #13 shooter.
4. BJ Burries Globe
Burries made the states best 115 3’s and went 88% from the FT line with a whopping 266 FT’s made. No other stats were tracked earning him #14 shooter.
5. Cameron Bender Ben Franklin
Bender was 32% 3pt line and 72% from the FT line while making 61 3’s and a 41% from the field earning him #15 shooter.
