Here we take a look at point guards in the 2020 class we expect to turn heads and raise their recruiting profile with a strong offseason.
Spencer Bain, 6’1, G, Blue Valley West
Bain had a breakout season of sorts with BVW and is poised for an even bigger offseason. A terrific 3-point shooter who can get to the basket when he needs to, Bain is a tough point guard with terrific size. He has good vision and is good at avoiding traffic and problem areas of the floor. He moves well and can play off the ball as well as he does with it.
Zeke Lyons, 6’0, PG, 2020, Parsons
Lyons will be running with Victory out of the Joplin (Mo.) area this spring and summer and brings a solid, all-around game and a high basketball IQ to the court. He is a pass first point guard who doesn’t always look for his shot as often as he should. He is a hard worker at the defensive end and brings intensity to the court as well as a team-first attitude.
Trey Reid, 5’11, G, Maize South
Reid is a scrappy guard who can force turnovers and capitalize on the mistake. He’s a quick, one who handles the ball and plays well on the move. He can score in transition and make shots from deep if he has the look. Reid doesn’t back down if his shot doesn’t fall. He stays after it and fights to get on the board.
Dariq Williams, 5’11, G, 2020, Parsons
An elite-level athlete, Williams brings solid ball handling, quickness and the ability to get to the basket to the court. He has the ability to play above the rim, and brings versatility to the floor. Williams is an explosive athlete, can knock down deep 3-pointers and makes spectacular passes to find open teammates
