Luke Hutto 2022 West Slope Point forward
I was only in the gym for a few moments when I first noticed Luke Hutton’s scoring abilities in the paint. His quickness and footwork in the paint allowed him to create separation and even, at times, completely exclude his defender from the play. His ability to finish at the rim was equally as impressive as he could finish the play with either hand.
Yorgio Golesis 2022 Utah Force guard
Yorgio Goles is a crafty, quick ball-handler who was really good at beating rush-hour traffic and finding his shot at the rim and executing the play. He is very fluid with the ball, and he appears almost instinctive with his lay-up catalog. Nonetheless, that almost effortless playmaking ability is practiced and calculated, which really makes it even more impressive.
Jayden Washington 2022 Mile High Centennials guard
Jayden Washington was one of those guys who was entertaining with his ability to finish the circus shot. On multiple occasions, I saw him make a play and just thought, “wow, that was stupid.” But then he did it again twice, thrice and so-on until I realized that he was just that good at finishing at the rim.
Trey Reese 2022 West Slope Elite point guard
Height will deal you a great advantage at the point guard position, especially if you’re a scoring guard. For 6-foot-1-inch Trey Reese, height was certainly pivotal in his ability to finish the play, but that doesn’t discount his skill in any way. Reese has a lot of craft and finesse with the ball in his hands as he regularly finished the drive-in in spectacular fashion on Friday night.
