Here were some of the AZ breakout performances I viewed:
2020
6’7 205 PF Anthony Giliberto of Paradise Valley HS (Arizona Rebels 2020)
-Highly skilled 4-man is slowly becoming more athletic. Shooter from mid to the 3pt line and has a left/right hook shot. Good rebounder in area and is starting to put the ball on the floor. Improving quickly and will breakout and be one of the better players in 4A next year.
6’5 160 SF Aidan Blaylock of Sunrise Mountain HS (Arizona Rebels 2020)
-Long and skilled wing. Shooter to the 3pt line and sneaky bouncy to throw it down. Late bloomer seems to improve every month. Grew an inch in last few months or so and 2-3 inches in last year. Starting to get tougher and more confident.
6’6 195 C Case Parsons of Scottsdale Basis (Powerhouse Hoops 17U White)
-Skilled small school 5-man who can step out to the 3pt line and in. Good hands, good motor and a quick second jumper. Can pass it out of the post and once he gets stronger, he will be more effective.
Small school player will open some eyes in the live period.JD Feagles CG 6’1 170 Horizon HS (Powerhouse Hoops 17U White)
-Dead-eye shooter from deep. Quick shooting release and stronger frame. Smart ball handler who defends hard. Will have a breakout year at Horizon HS.
2021
D’Marco Dunn CG 6’4″ 175 Tucson Marana (Powerhouse Hoops 16U UAA)
-Dunn is very athletic and a quick-twitched athlete. He gets downhill quickly and has a nice jumper from mid-range. His deep ball is improving but makes up for a lot with his tenacious defense. He takes contact in the paint and score tough layups in traffic. Has a nice feel to make others better and his game is just starting to form.
Dunn lived up to his high ranking with 18 points vs a 17U team.6’5” 200 Kevin Kogbara of Peoria HS (Factory 16U)
-Kogbara (Pictured on cover) is a thick point forward who gets downhill. Has a tight handle and is an exceptional passer in traffic. He is a physical player that is sneaky bouncy to throw it down. He can shoot it with range and scores it easily through contact.
2022
Jason Parent SF 6’4″ Prescott HS (Arizona Rebels 2021)
-Newcomer from Prescott was a first time viewing for me. He has good size and handles the ball well. He can hit the 3pt shot and has a good toughness about him. He can play inside and makes cerebral reads to teammates. The Rebels program is really high on him and I saw why.
