The POY in the state of Georgia led his high school team to an undefeated state 7A Championship. He will be looking to duplicate another championship this summer. He has a slew friends around him. GEORGIA STARS
Once known as the premier program in the state, Norman Parker’s Georgia Stars has something to prove this season. The stars have missed the peach jam the past two seasons. This could change with one of the top PG’s in the nation. Marcus Fitzgerald out of Tennessee, is one of the most underrated prospects in the country. His name will definitely appear on the marquee over the next couple of weeks. Bretner Mutombo, son of former NBA player Dikembe Mutombo will anchor the middle for the stars. Throw in athletic Tyrese Power and the stars could make some noise in division D. This weekend, the Stars will face Howard Pulley, Seattle Rotary, BABC, and AOT.
ATLANTA XPRESS
The Xpress opened up league play two weeks ago when they finished 2-2. The 2nd stop has them playing in Kansas City. Ronnie Gordon and Kendall Lewis lead the way for the Xpress. District WAWG, NE6, and New Heights, are on tap this weekend.
GAME ELITE JB
A team that could really get some national recognition this weekend is Game Elite JB. After going 3-0 in division play in Adidas Gauntlet regional in Spartanburg, Game Elite could run the table again this weekend in Dallas. So far, the most productive backcourt on the Adidas circuit is Kadarius Johnson and Caleb Byrd. Add Sion James to the mix, Game Elite JB could win their division. This weekend, EAB out of Tennessee, OSA out of Nebraska, Indiana Elite and Ohio Basketball Club will be Game Elite JB’s opponents.
GAME ELITE
5 star Walker Kessler and his Game Elite squad finished 2-1 in the first session of the Adidas Gauntlet. They are looking to build on that momentum in Dallas. Corey Walker, has become the go to guy for Game Elite. He led them in points during the Adidas Regional. Tony Sanders and Jamarcus Smith are key components for Game Elite as well. They will EBO, Dream Vision, Compton Magic Premier, and Basketball U.
ATLANTA CELTICS
I know I mentioned earlier that Game Elite JB had the best backcourt in the Adidas circuit. However, Dwon Odom and Devion Smith may have something to say about that. Throw in Caleb Murphy and the Celtics have their own ” BIG 3″. The Celtics will play the same teams as Game Elite this weekend in Dallas.
