Players To Note:
• Shawn Phillips (6’9 / C): Phillips is big man at about 6’9” and still growing. He is developing at a rapid pace. He is long and lanky with broad shoulders with a 7’2 wing span! Phillips is strong when finishing around the hoop. Really raw offensively at this stage. Did have a lot of dunks and blocks this past weekend at the Bearcat Classic. Led his team to the Platinum Championship. Couple weekends ago he was the tournament MVP averaging 14pt, 7 reb and 4 blocks a game at the Buckeye Prep invitational!
• Sellers Little (5’9 / G): This Trotwood Madison point guard is not the biggest, but at 5’9” he plays with a lot of heart and passion for the game. Little has one of the quickest first steps I’ve seen, with great ability to create separation from defenders. Little is a pass first point guard that can also score really well! Shot it really well from the perimeter, in the games this past weekend, he connected on a handful of triples. Size didn’t seem to hurt him getting his shot off. Little plays with a serious motor!
• Tymier Blanton (6’3 / SG-W): Blanton has streaky scoring ability but seems to get a bucket when needed. However, Blanton’s jumper has some promise and he’s definitely quick and long enough to get into the lane and score. Blanton is 6’3 and will probably grow a few more inches! His length and athleticism causes a lot of disruption on the opposing guards! Still very raw, however showed really promising signs the past two weekends.
• Mekhi Elmore (6’1 / CG): At 6’1, Elmore is a scoring machine. The 2022 guard is flashy with the ball and very crafty at finishing around the rim! Elmore started varsity this year as a freshman for Thurgood Marshall high school. Elmore is a great scorer that gets buckets in a hurry especially from three point range! Very poised and crafty scorer!
• Jacob Connor (6’6 / WF): Connor is another big man at about 6’6” that is developing rapidly. He is thin, long and lanky with broad shoulders. He’s a big that’s really good at finishing around the hoop. Connor uses his length to his advantage often creating a mix match against opposing teams due to his good dribbling ability. He’s able to pull other non athletic bigs away from the rim and blow past them! He has a really efficient mid range shoot and will knock down the three if left open, but is still really raw offensively at this stage. Projected to be at least 6’10!
