Mason Dopriak – 2021 – G – Wisconsin Playground Club
Dopriak shot the ball well from 3-point range all weekend. He’s undersized to play off the ball, but Dopriak can be deadly running through screens and hunting shots. After putting up 23.1 points per game as a sophomore, Dopriak has entered the spring with a lot of confidence.
Isaiah Hammond – 2021 – F – JH1 Elite
A player who wasn’t on our radar, Hammond showed some positive flashes in Stoughton. Someone who could develop in a hurry, Hammond is an active forward with a high motor. His length and athleticism gives him and edge on the glass and in transition. As a sophomore, he averaged nearly 21 points per game for Milwaukee School of Languages and could really take off as a prospect if his perimeter skills improve.
Jayden Jackson – 2021 – SG – ABC Young Lions
We’ve seen Jackson a few times now, but wanted to watch him against top competition in order to be sure. After helping the ABC Young Lions beat Wisconsin Playground Club, Jackson has earned top 25 status in the 2021 class. Jackson has prototypical shooting guard size, is a three-level scorer, and an intriguing shot creator that definitely has Division 1 potential.
Marcus Justice – 2020 – PF – Wisconsin Premier
He may not put up big scoring numbers or even be a college prospect, but I like the way this kid plays. Justice, the younger brother of Santa Clara wing Keshawn Justice, is a big body that hurts defenses in the pick n’ pop game. Justice has a smooth 3-point shot and sets solid, hard screens to free his wings. Also a terrific passer, Justice does a lot of things well that don’t necessarily show up in the box score, but really elevate his team.
Max Kunnert – 2021 – SG – Wisconsin Sharks
Kunnert can fill it up from mid and 3-point range. The sophomore guard is an efficient scorer on and off the ball. You can run him off screens and he’ll get himself open, but he’s also skilled enough to break down defenders off the dribble and get into high percentage areas. During the high school season, Kunnert plays on a loaded and balanced Brookfield Academy squad, but is clearly capable of putting up huge numbers if he were the main go-to scorer.
Dylan Lisitza – 2021 – PG – Wisconsin Playmakers
Lisitza was one of the best floor generals at the event. Balancing his duties as a facilitator and scorer, Lisitza picks his spots really well. An excellent ball handler with strong vision and feel for the game, Lisitza puts a ton of pressure on defenses with his ability probe and keep his dribble alive in traffic. Constantly utilizing change of pace, Lisitza keeps defenders on their heels at all times.
Kamari McGee – 2021 – PG – Wisconsin Sharks
We have McGee at No. 14 in our class of 2021 rankings, but we’re really thinking about him for a top 10 spot by the end of July. A physically advanced prospect with playmaking and scoring skills, McGee has Division 1 potential. He’s got terrific handles and can create space off the bounce and is just as good pulling up from mid-range as he is attacking the basket. Also an outstanding defender, McGee is very solid on the perimeter and never gives up anything easy, while creating a handful of turnovers throughout a game as well.
Marcus Mbow – 2021 – PF – ABC Young Lions
A big body with good footwork on the block, Mbow had some dominant stretches of basketball. Mbow uses his strength well to muscle defenders under the basket so they can’t be a shot blocking presence. Mbow absorbs contact well and has a soft touch around the rim.
Jack Rose – 2022 – SF – Wisconsin Playground Club
We’re going to release the first class of 2022 rankings shortly and Rose is likely going to stand very high. A 6-foot-4 wing with an advanced mid-range game, Rose shot the ball at a high level throughout the weekend. He’s also a tenacious defender that gets after and flusters the opposition.
Justin Steinike – 2020 – SG – Wisconsin Rap
The 6-foot-1 guard looked good in transition and proved he’s more than just a spot-up shooter. Steinike has better athleticism than we thought and could get coast-to-coast against some athletic teams. Steinike was very aggressive throughout the weekend and showed good touch in traffic.
