After a solid senior year at Liberty High School, the rising 6-foot-4, 180-pound shooting guard started getting some more recruiting attention but feels like he’s still a bit under the radar. With that said, he’s going to suit up this spring to see where that takes him as he continues to pursue his quest for a college basketball scholarship.
“I’m going to play this spring out as an unsigned senior with Elite Prep,” Elfstrom said. “I just want to go out and play and attract some attention from coaches. We’re going to LA and Pittsburgh and hopefully I’ll get some more options and I’ll lay out what I’ve gotten and go from there.”
Currently, Elfstrom holds an offer from Central Washington that he earned in mid-season. Oregon State has offered a walk-on spot while Colgate has been in contact and has talked about having him out on a visit. Elfstrom is staying open with the entire process and is hopeful some impressive play in April will give him some options to sort through.
The MVP of the 2A/3A KingCo Athletic Conference, Elfstrom helped take Liberty to the state tournament where they lost in their first game to Clarkston. “We took a tough loss in state but I think I was pretty satisfied with the season considering how young we were,” Elfstrom said.
Elfstrom currently ranks as the #28 player in the PrepHoops Washington Class of 2019 rankings.
