Walkertown 2020 Guard Jalen Cone has picked up offers from Providence, Tennessee and Wake Forest, with these schools interested in him graduating early and joining the 2019 class. Now this could be very interesting as we have seen quite a few players graduate early in years past, Cone has the skill and work ethic to make it happen so it will be interesting to see how things play out.
Athens Drive Senior Guard DJ Robertson will likely be back on the board as he will a release as the school he signed with (NKU) has experienced a coaching change. Robertson is a downhill guard that you have to love, he’s quick and athletic, can score it in bunches and is one of the better ball handlers in the state.
Brunswick Community College & Former Word of God Christian Guard Zack Newkirk has committed to Southern Connecticut State after one season at BCC. He is a strong guard that doesn’t say much verbally but his play speaks volumes, he gets after it on the defensive end and will be a player that is good on and off the court.
South Robeson HS Senior Forward Cam Werrell signed with Louisburg College which is a very nice pickup for the Tornadoes. The potential he has to be a special prospect is clear as long as he is willing to put in the time and work, he has a nice skillet already and put up 20 &10 per game this year.
71st HS Wing Tre Bell and Greene Central Wing Jekeal Gay will be at Mars Hill for a workout this month, Gay recently picked up an offer from Mount Olive while Bell holds some JUCO and NAIA offers. Both players can fill it up scoring wise, and make plays above the rim, it will be interesting to see how their recruitment plays off.
Northwood Temple & Team Loaded 2020 Guard Jamahri Harvey has picked up an offer from NC A&T to along with a few other D1 offers for the year. He is a player that got the opportunity to show what he fully has as the season went on and is off to a nice start for the spring.
Panther Creek HS Senior Forward Justin McKoy recently committed to UVA after reopening his recruitment following a coaching change at Penn State. You have to love what he can bring to a program on and off the court as he is an outstanding player but even better person.
