The #4 overall prospect recently announced he will be transferring to Morgan Park from Kenwood for his senior season. Bouncy four man that has significant developmental upside on both ends of the floor. Rebounds well in traffic, can score with his back to the basket, improving face up game, shot blocking presence, and is a rim runner in transition.
He talked about his junior year at Kenwood.
“The high school season was good. Season didn’t turn out the way I wanted, but I had fun with my team and I had to adjust as a leader very fast.”
Lewis discussed the improvements in his game.
“Throughout the year my game really improved in the perimeter area. From running fast breaks to pull up jumpers.”
Talk about the decision to transfer to Morgan Park for your final year of high school?
“It was a tough decision, but me moving to the Beverly area Morgan Park became my neighborhood school so it just made sense.”
He will be running with the Mac Irvin Fire in the Nike EYBL this summer.
“Playing with the Fire has been great. It’s going good and I had a lot of fun last weekend winning a championship at the Hoop Group tournament. I am looking forward to playing more of the three and four role in the EYBL which I think will be fun.”
What is going on with recruiting?
“Recruiting is getting better. Just gained interest from Notre Dame, Kansas State, and Arizona State.”
Currently he holds offers from Brown, Columbia, Loyola (MD), UW-Milwaukee, St. Louis, Southern Illinois, Southern Utah, Tennessee-Martin, UIC, Western Illinois, and Yale. He says that two Big 10 programs that have not offered are showing significant interest.
“Wisconsin and Illinois definitely.”
What stands out about the Wisconsin Badgers?
“Their history of big men and the love they show every time I’m there.
How about Illinois?
“It’s my home school and why not represent it.”
He broke down what he feels he can bring to a team in college.
“I can bring efficiency and a team attitude to team at the next level.”
