A 6’5″, 175-pounder, Brown came down from Toronto, Canada last fall playing his first year of basketball in the United States. He called it quite an experience.
The Eagles went 16-14, losing in the Class 2A state championship to a senior heavy Central Florida Christian team.
“At NFEI our work ethic is crazy, 5 AM practices before school and workouts after school. The level of work that we put in every day is what I feel like has separated us from the opposing teams near the end,” Brown told Prep Hoops. “Our record wasn’t so great but we made it all the way to the state championship game where we fell short. I feel like the team grew as a whole and learned to gel together pretty well. Personally, I feel like I’ve gotten stronger and more athletic.”
One offer is Brown’s table current from High Point.
This summer, he’s suiting up for Nightrydas Elite under coach Marcus Allen on the EYBL Circuit.
“This is my first year with the team and I feel like they’ve helped me a lot with my confidence,” Brown said.
In terms of his biggest strengths, Brown pointed to his ability to get to the bucket and finish at a high level. He said he’s aiming to improve his jump shot because he knows how important that will be at the next level.
This is a long guard who loves to attack and put his elusiveness in the spotlight. As his body fills out and he matures as a shooter, this kid will be a hot commodity from Division I programs. He’s confident and a quiet leader right now and it is hard to teach those traits.
