Plus athlete that also has potential on the defensive end of the floor. Can really shoot the basketball when he gets rolling. We caught up with Barnes to discuss his year at OPRF.
“The season went well. We didn’t go as far as we wanted to as we lost to York in the regional final. We will be ready to bounce back next year.”
How did he feel he played individually after transferring over for his sophomore campaign?
“I think I played solid with what I was given and playing on a senior laden squad.”
He spoke to the areas he saw the most improvement in his skill set.
“I saw my ball handling and jump shot improve. I have been in the gym working on those two main things. Working on my speed and quickness.”
This spring he is running again with the Illinois Wolves on the 16U level.
“I can’t wait to win more tournaments with my brothers.”
Several schools have already jumped in with offers.
“I have offers from Chicago State, Miami (OH), and Wisconsin-Milwaukee.”
Expect more offers to follow this spring and summer for the state’s #7 2021 prospect.
