Last summer, while playing with the Compton Magic, he showed the nation what many believed to be true about him in AZ: He can flat out play.
He took the noise that he made last summer and doubled down on it. He did this while having a huge season for Hillcrest Prep, one of the top prep schools in the nation. In fact, he has earned the right to be considered one of the top point guards in his class in the nation. However, he expressed that he wants to be looked at as more than just a point guard.
He believes that he is capable of playing the shoot guard position as well. In modern college basketball, positionless basketball is the trend which yields itself well to a prospect like Terry who is lengthy and athletic with a high basketball IQ.
In addition to being an extremely skilled prospect, college coaches are drooling over his length and height. The 6’7 2020 prospect has a great feel for the game and makes those around him better. He does a great job of creating for others as he has a heightened awareness as far as where his teammates need the basketball in order to be productive.
In addition to having height and great savvy, he finishes well around the rim and is a competitor. In my time of covering Arizona hoops, he has been one of my favorite prospects to watch when the trash talk begins. He does not back down from the competition or shy away.
Rather, he takes his game to another level. He plays with a chip on his shoulder. Also, he is not afraid to go toe to toe with any high school prospect in the nation.
Terry is still in the initial phases of deciding where he would like to go to school. He has not limited any of his options. According to Terry, he currently has offers from GCU, UNLV, Cal, USC, Nevada, ASU, Utah, Marquette, Arkansas, and Florida.
Further, he has received interest from many others as well. As far as what he is looking for in a school is concerned, he noted that he wants a place that make him “feel like home.” Further, he stressed that he wants to play “uptempo” and play at a school that will afford him as fast of a route as possible to the league.
The club season is still young. Terry will look to add a couple more high level schools to his impressive list of offers. With that said, he still has plenty to consider.
