Oakland Elite basketball is one of the premier basketball programs in the state of Michigan and was started with a specific purpose in mind: To assist young athletes with achieving their basketball goals. This program has consistently churned out future college players and developed competitive teams year in and year out.
What do you want people to associate with your Program?
As the program director of Oakland Elite I strive to provide a positive experience for these young adults. The credit for our success goes to our coaching staff 15u Keith ford, 16u Jason lund and 17u Duane Graves without there commitment to the players and parents we could not have a successful program. The goal of our program is to develop young men on and off the court to be successful in whatever they decide to do in life. – Romulo Roldan Club Director
What are your goals for this team?
This is a good group of guys they came up with some solid set of goals for the season.
1. Be competitive in every game
2. Improve on individual weakness and teamwork
3. Winning as many Tournaments as possible
How do you assist and counsel your players that are being recruited to play in college?
I have parents recording every game so the guys can create highlights films, study films to improve their game and sharing it to help promote themselves to colleges.
What is your philosophy regarding the AAU circuit?
As a coach I’m using these games to build personal confidence for each player, helping them get game repetitions where they don’t get during the regular season. Playing time experience is valuable to each players development and you really can’t get that just playing in pick up games. AAU gives them that opportunity and good coaches should know that as well.
What tournaments do you look forward to playing in the most? It’s great to be playing across the state against different competition for the guys. The Oakland Elite program is all about build a solid foundation for our guys to take back to their schools and breed success.
