Continue ReadingJarred Houghton is a talented 6’0″ point guard from Grand Ledge that has has had a very good start to grassroots season. He’s in the class of 2020 and is playing this spring with Mid Michigan Elite. This past high school season, Houghton averaged 12 ppg, 2 rpg, 4 apg, and 2 spg.
Houghton has used this spring to show an impressive skill set. He’s a solid shooter who finishes his jumper. Houghton plays the role of floor general, and he does it well. He understands how to run an offense and makes the right decisions as to where the ball should go next. Houghton is a competitor that his coach and teammates can count on to go 110% at all times.
Jarred Houghton is gaining valuable experience and continues to improve. He is currently working to improve his overall strength. He is playing against solid competition and seeing success with Mid Michigan Elite. Houghton is looking forward to participating in basketball camps, most notably the Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo. “My best moment in basketball is playing varsity as a sophomore with my older brother Jayke, who plays at Aquinas now,” said Houghton.
Houghton has a lot to bring to a college basketball program. He will provide a team with a true point guard who facilitates for his teammates. Houghton is unselfish and keeps everyone involved. He can provide a college coach with a leader that teammates follow and respond to.
Jarred Houghton has set his goals. He wants to play well, improve, and win when competing in the Prep Hoops Circuit. Houghton is determined to do whatever he can for his team to be successful and make noise at nationals in July. Next high school season, he wants his Grand Ledge squad to win its first district championship in 15 years and make a deep run in the state playoffs. Houghton is eyeing a future as a college basketball player as well.
