At 6’1, Souder can play either guard spot and says he takes pride in his defense and ability to push the ball in transition.
“I’m very comfortable with pushing the ball up in transition, knocking down threes, and looking for the open man,” he says. “I’m very competitive, and I want to be the best defender in the court at all times.”
Souder is running with Team KC this summer after playing with the KC Spurs in the past.
He helped Blue Valley North go 16-9 this past season and advance to the sub state championship game where they fell to Olathe North.
He says his biggest influence on his basketball career has been his dad.
“He pushes me to work hard and tells me to always go to the gym to work on my game when I have time,” Souder says.
A fan of NBA guard Kyrie Irving and Frank Mason, Souder says he appreciates the way both players attack the basket.
“They drive the the basketball like nobody else and they take pride in their defense,” he says.
