Although he is listed at 5’9, Braudis can take opponents by surprise with his ability to get to the basket, quickness and leaping ability. He can throw down the occasional dunk, play full court, pressure defense, and is a strong ball handler.
“I consider ball handling to be one of my strengths and I can deliver the ball to the post, drive, or distribute,” he says.
Braudis helped Miege for 19-3 this season season as he averaged six points, four assists and three steals per game.
“We did not reach our goal of winning state due to a buzzer beater but I am looking forward to the future,” Braudis says. “I felt as if I took a step in the right direction … I learned how to take more leadership and to be more of a floor general.”
Braudis is playing for MoKan 2021 this summer and he says he is looking forward to improving his ability to score.
“In particular, I am going to try and use my athleticism more to finish around the rim and shoot the ball better,” Braudis says.
Braudis says he has had several influences on his basketball career to date, including coach Rick Zych at Miege and coach RJ Newton with MoKan.
“(They) have helped me become a better leader,” Braudis said. “They also push me to be the best I can be and to pay attention to the little things. Coach RJ challenges me to dominate on defense and wants me to use my decision making and athletic ability to impact the game every time I am on the floor. My dad and stepfather have also had a positive impact on my career.”
A fan of NBA standouts Trae Young and Kevin Durant, Braudis says he has looked to take elements of both player’s individual games.
“I enjoy watching Trae Young and the things he can do with the ball and Kevin Durant,” he said. “There are bits and pieces from both that I try to take and implement into my game.”
