After a breakout season at Forest Grove this past year, the muscular 6-foot, 175-pound point guard wanted to continue his growth as a player. Littlefield got the opportunity to run with a club team out-of-state playing on the PrepHoops Circuit and so far it’s been a great experience.
Playing with Hard2Guard based out of Las Vegas, Littlefield ran with the squad for the first time a couple of weekends ago at the PrepHoops Circuit Hustle Region Kickoff where they finished with a 5-1 record. “Hard2Guard is a great team and I’m so thankful I’ve had the opportunity to play with them,” Littlefield said. “Coach Banks is a great coach and I was lucky to be able to have some connections to expose me to the opportunity. The first tournament was a lot of fun, not really knowing a lot of the guys it was a little weird at first but all the guys are great. It’s just exciting to play against great competition and the circuit has a lot of that.”
The spring follows up a good year for Littlefield, who really emerged as a force for Forest Grove in what was a bit of a surprise year for the Vikings. On the year he averaged 16.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 3.8 assists. “I was really happy with our season,” Littlefield said. “We didn’t make it past the first round (of the playoffs), but we started out with a really good winning streak. I had a bit of a disappointing sophomore year myself so I decided to really get in the gym and I really wanted to have a successful junior year, so I felt we accomplished that.”
Possessing a strong build, Littlefield can really get to the basket but is hoping to expand his game this off-season with Hard2Guard and with individual workouts. “I want to continue working on my jumpshot,” Littlefield said. “I feel that I have a strength in penetrating and creating offense, but if I can improve on my jumpshot that will help me out a lot. Along with that my defense – I think that defense can be overlooked sometimes so I want to use the opportunity to go against better competition to make myself a better defender.”
Of course, the hope is that playing on the PrepHoops Circuit will lead to an increase in Littlefield’s college recruitment, of which he’s completely open at this point. “I just hope that I can find the right fit,” Littlefield said. “A big thing for me is education. Right now I have a 3.8-4.0 GPA around that range and I know that basketball is a great way to get you through college. I’m just looking for the school that will give me the opportunity to do that, but one where I can fit into their system and be able to do so successfully.”
Littlefield currently ranks as the #56 player in the PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2020 rankings.
