Roster And Overview
#0, Blake Goodman (6’4″, F, Novi Christian)
“Inside and outside player that can take care of the ball and create for others. Uses his big frame well making him tough to guard, and uses that size to his advantage on defense as well. Ability to put the ball through the net from the perimeter.” – Coach Lund
#2, Jake Lansaw (6’3″, G, West Bloomfield)
“Defensive specialist that has the ability to score as well. Smart shot selection with a smooth release. Very strong guy with great footwork, understands the important aspects of defense that very few can comprehend. After a defensive rebound he is very skilled at pushing the ball in transition.” – Coach Lund
#3, Keyshawn Devlin (5’10”, G, Wyandotte)
“Strong guard that has a junk yard dog mentality. Limitless shooting range, multi level scorer, creative ball handler. Plays extremely unselfish considering his ability to score at will. Willing and more than able to create for all of his teammates.” – Coach Lund
#7, Jahlani Thornton (6’5″, F, Detroit Edison)
“Very long shot blocker with agile footwork. Understands his role very well and embraces every opportunity that provides him. Motor that never stops and can get up and down the court in transition with all the guards that love to push the ball. Plays the ball screen defense extremely well causing turnovers and immediate scoring opportunities for his teammates.” – Coach Lund
#10, Kipras Blazevicius (6,5″, F, West Bloomfield)
“Long, strong, intelligent guy that can shoot and is not at all afraid to stick his nose in the mess. Plays in transition with the best of them, footwork is always ready to shoot, eyes always up the court looking for scoring opportunities ahead of him. Very unselfish and very willing to help his teammates.” – Coach Lund
#11, Joshua Hines (6’1″, G, Macomb Dakota)
“Quick with the ball and without the ball. Offensively he is very difficult to stay in front of, explosive first step that makes his options limitless. Has fantastic defensive footwork and does not have any issue staying in front of the ball and using his athleticism to cause mass chaos for his opponent.” – Coach Lund
#12, Blake Lund (6’1″, G, Linden)
“Ultimate 2 way player. Can shoot from anywhere at any time with confidence and quickness. Has court vision and ability to make the difficult pass. Willing and able to guard 1-5 and will not give up regardless of the challenge. IQ and work ethic are immeasurable.” – Coach Lund
#14, Parker Lewis (6’5″, F, Imlay City)
“Strength and motor that causes a lot of problems for the competition. Can step out and hit shots, but more than willing to take it inside as well. High level athleticism that is hard to keep off the glass in combination with tenacity that is just plain fun to watch.” – Coach Lund
#22, Jacob Oswald (6’6″, F, Brandon)
“Long, athletic, intelligent, unselfish, well rounded basketball player. Ability to shoot from the perimeter and finish at the rim over multiple opponents. Rim protector that has great footwork and understands the vertical aspect on defense. Can get up and down in transition without sacrificing energy at either end of the court.” – Coach Lund
#24, Blake Woodward (6’9″, C, Romeo)
“Good footwork around the rim, finishes high and rebounds high. Good vision for outlet angles and runs rim to rim well. Unselfish guy that really embraces his role with an amazing attitude. Big strong body that is not easy to work around and plays in his space intelligently and confidently.”
– Coach Lund
Outlook
“Each of these young men have things to accomplish this spring. It will be the goal of the group to ensure that they hold themselves, their teammates, and those around them accountable to achieve those lofty aspirations. Coming off a 74-6 14u season and a 50-9 15u season, the team is looking to leave their mark on this 16u season. These guys were hand picked for this team not only because of the attributes that contribute to a winning culture on the court but also because of the amazing people they are off the court. Supportive parents that understand the life lessons and social advantages being a part of an organization that focuses on the reality that basketball is a tool to achieve something better in life. High academics are an expectation within their households and the goal for them is to be able to excel in the classroom even more so than on the court. Respectful, teachable, next level work ethic, unselfish, tough, intelligent, and fundamental are a few terms that have been used to describe this team.”
