Champ Sports 17u will be a high quality grassroots team this season. Their roster is full of high energy players that are excellent defenders. They will be a team to follow throughout the spring and summer.
Roster
Logan Chilman (6′ 2” G Beal City)
- “Logan is great all round player. He can shoot the three, pull-up for a mid range jumper and score around the rim. Recently, led his team to a district championship.” – Champ Sports 17u
Brady Hunter (5′ 9” G Gaylord St Mary)
- “A pure pass first point guard. Brady is as fast as lightning and loves to play defense, speeding up the other team and forcing turnovers.” – Champ Sports 17u
Shane Jenkins (6′ 4” F Clare)
- “Shane used to score all his points from the perimeter. However, he has recently showed his ability to score around the bucket while still having a good outside shot.” – Champ Sports 17u
Shane Loynes (5′ 10” G Ovid Elsie)
- “Shane is a smaller guard who is an all around solid basketball player. He is a good defender and can hit shots from outside.” – Champ Sports 17u
Lucas Lueder (6′ 5” F Sanford Meridian)
- “A pure scorer at all three levels with a high basketball IQ, Lucas is 6’5 and is able to handle the ball as well as any guard around. He recently showed his ability in Meridian’s run to the Quarterfinals.” – Champ Sports 17u
Alec Mills (6′ 7” F Mt Pleasant)
- “Alec has the ability to impact opposing players shots in the middle, even getting his hands on some. He can finish passes from our guards on offense.” – Champ Sports 17u
Trey Plichta (6’0” G Sanford Meridian)
- “A coaches kid who knows the game inside and out. Trey is known as a knockout shooter, but has recently shown that he is able to run an offense and lockdown an opposing guard.” – Champ Sports 17u
Tyrone Rios (6′ 1” F Mt Pleasant)
- “A crafty forward who at many times is undersized. He can step outside and shoot the three or drive by bigger defenders.” – Champ Sports 17
Gage White (6′ 1” G Sanford Meridian)
- “Gage is a slasher with great footwork when he gets into the lane. He also has a knack for drawing fouls and getting to the line.” – Champ Sports 17u
Zac Yorke (6′ 2” G/F Millington)
- “A stronger guard who is smart enough to use his body to get to the hole, and crafty enough to finish when he gets there. He will also take smaller defenders into the post and score. Zac is a great rebounder at the guard position.” – Champ Sports 17u
Easton Yuncker (5’10” G Beal City)
- “A guard you would want on your team. A good defender and great role player who does not make mistakes.” – Champ Sports 17u
