Brayshawn Finch of Oklahoma Hustle. If you watched the Oklahoma State Tournament this year you saw 6-foot-5 Brayshawn Finch have a fantastic run for Tulsa Memorial High School. Finch was the guy who inspired Memorial Youth Hoopers to write his number on their cheeks while student body members made signs of encouragement with Finch as the main theme. The long and lanky two-way producer continued his run of good play by scoring 20 plus points in every game in Denver plus had a 40 spot in the event as well. Clearly a sleeper from Tulsa that should open eyes soon.
Sean Pedulla of Team Buddy Buckets. Team Buddy Buckets 16s won the quarters by 35 points, the semi-final by 30, and the title game by 20 points. Pedulla, a six foot guard from Edmund Memorial in Oklahoma, once again led the Buddy Buckets offense with grit and efficiency. His multiple (four) early treys put TBB up 20 on the Colorado Hawks seven minutes into the first half of the title game. In half two Pedulla’s attacking And1 put the dagger into his opponents. Another weekend, another MVP performance.
Kaimen Lennox of Team KC. Lennox is a 6-foot-3 2020 guard that is making a push to be considered one of the best guards in KC next winter. Earned a 17u MVP honor after his Team KC squad won championship gold in Denver. The Truman HS product was equally as productive with the ball at the one or attacking for transition/halfcourt success as a two gaurd. Kaimen is coming off of an 18.3 point per game season where Lennox made nearly half his field goals and improved greatly as a three point shooter.
Ricky Lujan of New Mexico D1 Ambassadors. Ricky Lujan is the Point-A-Minute-Man. The 6-foot-2 guard from Onate High School in Las Cruces, New Mexico made waves this winter with a 72 point performance in a two game holiday event. Lujan then led his team to the state tournament where he made a game winner in the quarters upsetting the two seed. Lujan’s outstanding play of March carried over into April where the D1 Ambassadors standout led his team to the event semi-finals. How did it happen? With Ricky Lujan scoring a point-a-minute regardless of who was defending him.
Baye Fall of Colorado Hawks. Fall is a 6-foot-8, maybe 6-foot-9 2023 talent (still in 8th grade) who screams potential. Baye had a near triple double last weekend in Arkansas and this weekend he helped the Hawks push their way to the 16u title game before running into Team Buddy Buckets. Baye Fall has the potential to be a highly ranked national name if his game continues to progress like it seems it could. Flashed big potential in Denver.
