Although the organization has taken this year off, there still are some players and coaches that have joined up with the Fayetteville Flash and the program is already making some noise in the grassroots world.
2020 Guard Jamel Carter: A PG that has seen his fair share of big games and matchups, he’s a guard that can make plays in the half court or pitch the ball up in transition to get the break going. He looks to get teammates involved and he also can knock down the three point shot at a nice rate which helps to create space in the offense.
2020 Forward Travon Jackson: High volume rebounder and shot blocker that plays the game with a pretty high motor, which is something that every team needs. He is somewhat undersized for a player in the post but he doesn’t allow that to deter him from being a productive player.
2020 Guard Marquil James: For some time during this past season, he was a leading scorer for public schools in the county and finished averaging 16 PPG. Craftiness is what would describe his game the best, he has a pretty quick first step and does a nice job reading defenders.
2019 Guard Antonio Jones: One of the players that played a role for his high school team at Pine Forest this past season. An attribute that you have to like about him is his coach ability, he does what is asked of him and can play multiple position on the court
2019 Wing Erwin Montgomery: Good height and wingspan for a player that can play on the wing, he showed some flashes of how good he can be this season and still has quite a bit of raw potential in his game. Slashing to the basket, making plays off the rim and defending multiple positions are all some of the things that we got to see from him.
2019 Wing Miles Ray: One of the best athletes in the area, you can catch him flying high above the rim on a regular basis throwing down dunks. He has improved in various areas of his game which include his ball handling and shot making off the dribble. As of now he’s picked up quite a bit of interest and offers from Junior College programs, and is one that we feel has plenty of potential left in his game.
2020 Forward Jaylen Siermons: The improvement that he has made over the last year has been pretty impressive as he is learning how to use his strength and athleticism to his advantage. Scoring and rebounding are where you will see him excel, he’s been able to stretch his game out now to the point where he is knocking down threes but he still is effective inside the paint.
