I would say that the Truth were unanimously favored by fellow scouts and reporters but PHH 16 UAA did their thing! A big part of what the Truth does comes from their hardcore press, which forces a large amount of turnovers.
However, PHH 16 UAA had an answer with Derrick Kaps and Justice Jackson. Kaps and Jackson had no problem breaking their press simply by beating their man and blowing past them down court. In the half court set, Brett Hardt Jr. and DaRon Holmes did what they do best!
Hardt got hot from deep while Holmes continued to attack the rim and score from the block. JT Elder and D’Marco Dunn brought an elevated amount of toughness to the game that was much needed against the high energy/high hustle Truth team.
In the end, the game came down to one possession. The Truth were down by two and drove it hard to the paint, Holmes came up with a huge block. Out of the inbounds, The Truth went to their star, Reece Dixon. D’Marco Dunn did a great job of bodying up Dixon and forced him into a tough shot that missed.
