He is a 6’4″ guard that can play on the ball and initiate offense but thrives in situations where he can score the basketball as a shooting guard.
The senior from McDonough, Georgia has good length and lateral quickness to guard positions 1-3 defensively and is a big time athlete that uses his leaping ability to his advantage when rebounding on both ends. Attacking the basket is common and but his outside shooting is not to be overlooked, as I’ve seen him knock down 7 from behind the arc in an AAU contest last summer with the College Park Rim Rockers.
During his high school championship run, dealing with the effects of a dislocated shoulder that happened during the playoffs, Cameron found a way to have a significant impact in the GHSA Class A-Private championship game. He remained consistent through injury, using that length to finish at the rim and raise up to get shots off from the perimeter over smaller defenders for a gutsy 17 point output.
His versatility throughout the entire season allowed him to average 14.3 points per game on 51% shooting, earning first team all-region honors on the year. Cameron holds offers from several mid majors and interests from schools such as Tennessee Tech, UAB, and Charleston Southern. Where he commits is still unclear but wherever it may be, they will be getting a guard who is physically ready to compete and someone who can bring multiple assets to a team on the floor next season.
