Ward had the crispest passes I saw of any level in the Future Stars Classic altogether. A very much team player, he created so many easy buckets for his team on Saturday and lead them to a big win due to his constant effort on feeding the rock to his teammates. I lost track of the assists he had on Saturday, that’s how well he found his teammates from Top Flight.
Jeremy Kolb, Minnesota Heat/White Bear Lake, MN, 14U
Kolb is excellent at finding his shot from just about anywhere on the floor. What I saw on Saturday was his ability to shoot the three with ease, drive the bucket with any kind of traffic also with ease, and defensively, creating havoc with key deflections through the game. This kid will be a great asset to White Bear Lake High School basketball for the coming years with his great all-around play.
Cedric Banks, Minneapolis Dream Team/Minneapolis, MN, 12U
What I liked about Cedric’s game is his all-around play on all avenues of the court. At 5’1, he wasn’t afraid to take it to the bucket, his lockdown defense was on point, and feeding his teammates with ease was his strongest suits. Banks is someone to look for in the class of 2025 out of Minneapolis.
#AboutTheHustle Prep Hoops Futures Classic Player of the Week:
Jack Misgen, Minnesota Heat/White Bear Lake, MN, 14U
Let’s just say White Bear Lake was all over my notes sheet this weekend. I saw Misgen miss his shot, follow his shot for the rebound (tough to teach), kick it off to his teammate who made one more pass for an open three-pointer for the Heat. These are the items of basketball that often get overlooked as some teams and players don’t know how to always create the open shot, shout out to Jack Misgen for being my #AboutTheHustle Player of the Week!
