Here are a few takes on the firat live period from Michigan’s perspective:
Michigan is underrated as a basketball state.
First things first, we’ve always been underrated as a state in basketball. How many guys have to make it to the league before people see? From Draymond Green to Bryn Forbes, Michigan guys are making a statement.
There is a ton of next level talent in Michigan.
I could make a case for around 200 basketball players in the class of 2020 having next level talent. There are players from Division 1 to NAIA and Juco. There is talent at every position for all levels.
Even with the transfers, Michigan is still strong at the top.
Watch Scooby Johnson and Jalen Terry and tell me they aren’t top notch talent in the country. Maliq Carr is one of the best pure athletes nationwide. Matt Nicholson is on the verge of hitting that next level of post players. And that’s just a few examples. Athletes like this are special.
If a school is looking for a point guard, come to Michigan.
Every single class in Michigan right now is loaded with point guard talent. No matter what level of college basketball you coach at, odds are that we have a lead guard that would fit your school. We have score first athletes, floor generals, and more.
Michigan players have their own kind of grind.
I’ll bet most states say this, so we will too. Our kids WORK. They’re the first to hit the floor for a loose ball, dig their feet in on defense, and are the last to leave the gym at night when they’re putting in work.
