Most of us know that Cassius Winston (PG, UD Jesuit/Michigan State) and Foster Loyer (Clarkston/Michigan State) are in the Final 4 and playing for a National Championship.
What do they have in common with native Detroiter Wendell Green? Besides being star high school point guards and being from Michigan, Green is also playing for a National Championship this weekend. He will be at the GEICO High School Nationals in New York City.
Wendell Green is a junior point guard at La Lumiere in Indiana. In the midst of a big season, he’s being actively recruited by a number of high major Division 1 schools. South Carolina and Cincinnati have shown strong interest recently and have had a lot of contact. Utah has been consistently calling and checking in as well. He’s a crafty lead guard who has no limit on his range. Green can attack the hoop as well, finishing with great body control. His La Lumiere team is looking to complete an undefeated season with a National Championship.
