Howell is a big bodied forward with a really good frame. He is a high level athlete, and is able to use his athleticism to rebound and protect the rim better than anyone in the class. He is a really good finisher around the rim, and finishes above the rim. He has made significant progress on his outside shot, and is going to continue to get better there.
Dante Bell 6’8 C Bossier
Bell is a long, athletic player that can play either the 4 or the 5. He protects the rim and rebounds at a high level. For my money, he is the best shot blocker in the state for his class. The more that I watch him, the more that I realize that he is more skilled than you would expect. He can put the ball on the floor a bit, and is getting better in that aspect.
Jordan Johnson 6’7 PF Madison Prep
Johnson is another long, athletic forward on this list. He really excells around the rim on both ends of the floor. He is a high level rim protector and rebounder, and is able to anchor any defense that he is a part of. He plays with a high motor, which is always something that you like to see from the big position. Of everyone on this list, he is probably the most active on the defensive end, whether that is getting blocks or steals.
Caleb White 6’9 C Crescent City
White is a big bodied center, with soft touch around the rim. He is also a high level rim protector and rebounder at the high school level, but I do have concerns about his mobility when it comes to the next level. He can finish over either shoulder in the post. He is probably best kept around the rim on either end of the floor.
Kenny Hunter 6’9 C Huntington
Hunter is also a big bodied center, who has shown flashes of being dominant on either end of the floor. He has a really long wingspan, and is able to anchor the defense as a result. He can score with either hand down on the block, and has shown the ability to step out and knock down a 15 ft. jump shot on occasion. I would like to see him be more consistent on the offensive end, especially around the paint, but he has definitely gotten better there over the past year.
