MIKE AIKEN | 5’9 G | NEW WORLD SILVER/THURGOOD MARSHALL ‘21
Mike Aiken was the best true point guard we saw on Saturday. He took complete control in his team’s comprehensive win over a very good 16U DBC team. Aiken is a confident ball-handler who got into the paint at will by utilizing change of speeds. He has good burst and is a crafty very finisher in traffic.
ELVIN EDMONDS | 6’2 G | TEAM LOADED VA/HOPEWELL ‘21
While he proved that shooting is probably his best skill, Elvin Edmonds also stood out in a variety of other areas. His defense was exceptional both on and off the ball. Edmonds scored it well in transition, but also made simple yet effective plays in half-court offense.
JAYLANI DARDEN | 6’4 G | BOO WILLIAMS/NORVIEW ‘21
Jaylani Darden certainly helped himself with standout performances in both games on Saturday. The 6-foot-4 lefty was adept at slashing and finishing in the lane through contact. Darden mixed it up nicely on offense and was efficient with the ball.
KINO LILLY | 5’10 G | DC PREMIER/LANDON ‘21
In perhaps the most entertaining and certainly one of the most competitive games of the day, Kino Lilly took over when it mattered most. He not only showcased the ability to create his own shot and shoot with confidence down the stretch, but also had the presence of mind to keep his teammates involved.
MARK WILLIAMS | 6’11 C | BOO WILLIAMS/NORFOLK ACADEMY ‘20
If there is a ceiling for the potential of Mark Williams, the world hasn’t seen it yet. He’s just unbelievable at altering and blocking shots with his length. Williams worked hard and was arguably the most dominant player both times he stepped on the court.
