Josh Smith – 6’7 PF 2020 – Monrovia (IN) – Men of the Family 2020
Josh is a emerging forward who was really good today showing off everything he had. He’s grown 4 inches in the last year and is just now starting to get his footing back. He didn’t look as comfortable with everything during the high school season but he was great today. Shot the ball very well off the dribble and catch. Had a little flair to his jumpers on the perimeter with a crossover. Drove the ball well and used his body to his advantage. Has some speed but he isn’t overly athletic so will be interesting to see how that dribble-drive game develops. He’s growing really quickly here.
#1 Nick Spearing – 5’11 PG 2020 Roncalli (IN) – Northside Spartans 2020
Nick is a long, lean guard who could possible play on the ball but is best suited with his offensive skill set as a shooter. He’s got a ton of length and in time could be a pretty good on ball defender. Where he excels is as a shooter. He’s very technically sound with his release, high and quick. A little long but he knows how to get it off.
Brice Gilman – 5’9 PG 2020 – South Vermillion (IN) – Southwest Rebels 2020
Gilman is a slight guard with some really good shooting ability. He showed that off with great range and a quick release. A little bit of a push shot but repeatable. He’s also got some shiftiness to him where he can really get into the middle of the floor. Not sure yet if he can get all the way to the rim but he’s not back right now but that ability to get to the mid-post and dish would be huge. Defensively, he could add some value as the strength comes in with his quickness. He does need a lot of strength but should put that on in college if not sooner.
Ben Humrichous – 6’6 PF 2020 – Tipton (IN) – Indiana Elite Green 2020
Ben is a long, rangy forward who can stretch the floor and has the handles you want for a projectable prospect. He’s lean but should add strength well quickly. His jumper is good, could become a bigger factor at the next level. He has the ability to play inside and out but does look more comfortable faced up right now. Has the easy-to-see upside with his frame and length.
Noah Hupmann – 7’0 C 2020 – Evansville Day (IN) – DistinXion 2020 Red
Noah is a long, tall post player who looks to be coming around. Functionally around the rim, he’s really capable and has a plentora of touch shots he can draw to. He’s very thin, lack wide shoulders or hips but he still gets up and down the floor well. His release on his shot looks good but he’s not really a guy that can stretch the floor yet. The production is going well but still want to see him against size and strength to see how he holds up.
Noah Jager – 5’8 PG 2020 – Bloomington South (IN) – DistinXion 2020 Red
Noah is a small guard but well put together and really can do quite a bit. He shoots the ball really well and was drilling it off the pull-up in this one. He’s just as good off the catch. Has the vision and passing to make plays for his teammates and really balances it out well. He’s definitely on the smaller side but does understand how to create space when going at the rim. Should be a high-end distributor with a more than capable jumper for a college program.
Brayden Pearson – 6’1 SG 2020 – Fort Wayne Concordia (IN) – Club 1 Prime 2020
Brayden is a long, athletic guard with a ton of bounce and a great perimeter jumper. He was hitting everything in this game and really locked in early. He’s a guy that can do a lot off the dribble, maybe better going at the rim, but is dynamic enough to really take control of a game. Has great length and the frame is outstanding. Should become an elite defender in college if he works for it, has the body and skill to do it. Add that to a balanced offense and he’s got a chance to be really good.
Bailey Conrad – 6’7 PF 2020 – Christian Academy (IN) – Indiana Legends 2020
Bailey is a big forward with a lot of strength and some sneaky athleticism. He’s gotten bigger, might have to define the frame more in college, but he moves very well and if in position can get up and throw it down. He’s gotten better in the mid-range, showing off a ton of creative ability with a turnaround jumper and a straight pull-up. He’s got that touch down pat in that area and is effective enough on the low block that offensively, he can play the 4 man but be able to switch onto 5s.
Jacob Johnson – 6’5 SF 2020 – Oldenburg Academy (IN) – Indiana Legends 2020
Jacob is a long, lean wing that has good handles and the frame seems to be a growing asset. He’s a capable ball handler and creative enough along the perimeter that when he wants to shoot, he can light it up. Has a ton of length and looks the part of a dynamic wing long term. He showed enough skill that you are ready to see him take over games. That is kind of the next step in his development because the package is there.
Jacob Brown – 6’7 C 2020 – Connersville (IN) – Indiana Legends 2020
Jacob is a big post player who has really gotten bigger and better in the last year. He’s a straight 5 for programs at the next level but he has some length and showed that he can be a little bit of a rim protector. He’s really adept in the post because he does move pretty well for his size. He’s also got a ton of strength to him. Want to look a little bit more into his rebounding but he’s a guy that is going to be coveted in a class that lacks effect post players.
Jordan Gadis – 6’0 PG 2020 – Nobelsville (IN) – Indiana Elite All-In 2020
Jordan is a solid lead guard with a great body and tons of strength. He’s very quick in the open floor and can use his speed and strength to make plays in transition. More of a perimeter oriented guard, didn’t look too much to drive but had success when he did. He’s got an odd-jumper that will have to be worked on a bit but he showed some success with it, just not sure it’s effective long term. But, his on-ball demeanor and toughness was great to see and looks the part of a college prospect.
#1 Vincent Pich – 6’4 SG 2020 – Beech Grove (IN) – Indiana Elite SIDE 2020
Pich has gotten quite a bit bigger in the last year. Now well over 6’3 and closer to 6’4, he has a frame and mobility that will really benefit him long term. He’s a guy that now looks like a switchable defender for 1-4 at a small school program. He’s a decent ball handler still and can play on the ball if needed but he shoots it well enough and provides enough off the ball that you can find value for him as a 2/3 as well. Jumper looked solid with a high release. Wouldn’t mind seeing him take more shots.
#5 Daniel Asher – 6’8 C 2020 – Roncalli (IN) – Indiana Elite SIDE 2020
Daniel is a big forward that has grown and filled out a little more. He’s 6’8-200 or so and really looks the part of a small school post prospect. He’s fairly mobile and loves to play faced up in the mid-range but did show an ability to score on the low block at times. He has nice touch in that area of the floor and could probably go to it more often. He’s not yet a guy that can stretch the floor but is good as a passer and facilitator out of the high-post. Can play a bit in transition.
#50 Isaac Farnsworth – 6’3 SF 2020 – Fort Wayne Snider (IN) – IE Summit City 2020
Isaac is a big wing who is a little undersized but produces at a high level. He’s a great rebounder who can really effect things on both ends. He’s got a capable jumper but by the end of the summer we want to see it worked in a lot more in his game. He’s so tough and physical that coaches should flock to that. Handles it well enough from the wing but again, it might be adding in more of a jumper to define his offensive game more.
#4 Will Lasater – 6’8 PF 2020 – West Lafayette (IN)
Will is a long, lean forward that is a solid shooter in the mid-range and beyond. He lacks touch around the rim and will need to execute there a little better for his development. When actually looking to shoot, he has great touch and can even pull-up off the dribble at times. He’s really mobile and will get up and down the floor. His ability to stretch is key here and will draw in quite a few more schools. Want to see a little more aggressiveness on defense moving forward.
#1 Ben Weidner – 6’2 SG 2020 – Zionsville (IN)
Ben is a big guard who is kind of a combo right now but plays very tough and has the body to handle it. He’s a guy that can shoot a little bit and found his footing in that regard in this game. Able to hit well of the catch, he showed a little more willingness to make plays off the bounce. He’s a guy that might need to produce a little more to warrant playing off the ball but handles it well enough that at the right level he can play on the ball.
