This class also features players that have not played much organized basketball, but do things on the court that can not be taught. The more these kids play, the better they will become. Here are 7 2020 bigs to watch:
Shannon Grant (Alabama Celtics)- Grant has burst onto the scene. He is a 6’10 270 pound monster. Grant finishes everything in the paint and has super soft hands. He is hard to keep off the glass and runs the floor well. His biggest knock is his body. He needs to improve his body and stay on the floor for longer periods of time.
Rongie Gordon (ATL Xpress)- Rongie has turned himself into a machine. He has a well rounded offensive game, and the kid is a very good athlete. Recently, he picked up several SEC offers. Rongie has a lot of potential and the skill set to become the best player in his state class.
Cameron Boozer- Boozer was playing with Alabama Fusion, but he is not with them this weekend. Boozer is 6’9, plays above the rim, and is a disruptive help defender. The things he is capable of athletically, you can not teach. He needs to stay engaged and play to his strengths.
Zondrick Garrett (Team Thad)- Garrett is another athletic post. He is a very good transition finisher and moves extremely well. Overall, he is a well rounded player and has the potential to stretch the floor. Best attributes are his high motor and defensive awareness.
Reginald Perry (Alabama Fusion)- Perry is a load to handle down low. He is a strong physical post. Good luck keeping him out of the paint. Very soft touch. Needs to be more active on the glass. He has too much strength and leverage to not rebound at a higher rate. Perry is also receiving HM football offers.
Cole Larue (Hawks Elite)- Larue is a 6’9 skilled big. He has really good ball skill. He can stretch the floor. Larue also keeps balls alive on the glass. He needs to become a more physical player and more aggressive. Larue has the potential to be a very good player at the next level with his size and skill mixture.
Sawyer Wright (Pro One Select Navy)- Wright has developed a really good feel for the game from the post area. He has improved his footwork and has a soft touch around the rim. He is not the best athlete, but Wright holds his position well on both ends of the court. This kid has the potential to become a solid post player at the high D2/ low D1 level.
