On Tuesday, the IndyStar released the results and here are those 13 that will be donning the red, white, and blue uniforms in their last acts as Indiana High School players.
Cobie Barnes – Floyd Central [Indiana State]
Jesse Bingham – Warren Central [Indianapolis]
Ethan Brittain-Watts – Culver Academies [Boston University]
Luke Bumbalough – New Castle [Ball State]
Armaan Franklin – Cathedral [Indiana]
Alex Hemenway – Castle [Clemson]
Trayce Jackson-Davis – Center Grove [Indiana]
Dawand Jones – Ben Davis [Ohio State – FB]
Jake Laravia – Lawrence Central [N/A]
John-Michael Mulloy – Carmel [Butler]
Brandon Newman – Valparaiso [Purdue]
Isaiah Thompson – Zionsville [Purdue]
Jalen Windham – Ben Davis [N/A]
As we talked about before the release, there were going to be 2 spots that were up for grabs. The top 11 seemed locked in with Ethan Brittain-Watts and Jesse Bingham locking down those final spots. There were a number of other options from Drew Lutz (Penn) or Sydney Curry (Northrop). We actually had a list of 13 alternates that could have a legit shot and should have been in the conversation.
As far as the in-state colleges that landed these players, here is the breakdown:
Purdue: 2
Indiana: 2
Indiana State: 1
Indianapolis: 1
Ball State: 1
Butler: 1
We also have two players that are still uncommitted with Jalen Windham and Jake Laravia who could end up going to a few different in-state options including Indiana and Purdue.
On May 5th, the Mr. Basketball award will be unveiled. Just after that, you will have the Kentucky/Indiana All-Star games.
