Alex Cubillo is a heady, talented shooter who was especially lethal from the catch over the weekend. His elite passing ability aided him in scoring production as defenders were forced to slide with the passes he gave to his teammates. Cubillo has a crisp, repetitive, quick release that he used to torment opposing teams from the 3-point line.
Ben Sholtzberg 2022 The Truth EYBL guard
Ben Sholtzberg has all of the guard skills necessary to be successful, including a silky finish at the rim. But most impressively, he was a strong scorer who utilized his speed to drive in to the lane and finish the bucket or draw the foul. Sholtzberg is tall for a guard of his age, but is equally as athletic. He can jump out of the gym and can finish high over opposing defenders. Additionally, his ball-handling skills aid to him creating his own shot.
Mason Dorsey 2022 California Raptors guard
Six-foot-2-inch guard Mason Dorsey is one of the few guys at this age who can score on all three levels. He proved the ability to hit the 3, drive in and even post up at times. He was one of the most explosive athletes on the floor in the 15U bracket and was a very talented finisher near the rim, as well.
Mike Price 2023 The Truth EYBL guard (pictured above)
I can’t stress enough how talented a scorer the young Mike Price is. Price’s skill set revolved around his ability to get to the rim, mostly, but that doesn’t mean you should discount his 3-pointer. In fact, Price’s ability to shoot the 3 was as integral to his scoring game as anything, as it forced defenders to close out on the catch on the perimeter, allowing him to blow by his adversaries.
Christopher Galvan 2023 HD Basketball White forward
Walking into the gym, it was easy to be instantly impressed by incoming freshman Christopher Galvan. Galvan was a threat with the Bali in his hands at any point as he played each position offensively at one time or another. Though he was one of the tallest players on the floor at 6-foot-3-inches, Galvan’s true advantage came from his footwork in the post and ability to finish shots with contact. He is an impressively-developed and versatile athlete for his age and his explosive strength is through the roof. He can handle the ball and pass the ball as well.
