2020 RJ Hampton | Drive Nation
The number one point guard in the 2020 class did not disappoint in the opening session of the EYBL circuit. Hampton tallied 27 points, had 7 rebounds and dished out 5 assists. He gets up and down the court so well and NBA scouts are already raving at his lead guard skills. Right now there is a lot of talk about him reclassifying to the 2019 class and if that is this case, there is certainly a conversation to be had about who is the number one point guard in the class with Hampton being centered around that conversation.
2020 Isaiah Jackson | The Family
Prep Hoops recently updated the class of 2020 rankings and Jackson slid in at number 11. After his play last night, I could be pushing for his name to be inside the top 10. Jackson is a beast inside the paint as he does everything a big man can do. He finishes strong at the rim, gets rebounds on both ends and can block multiple shots a game. Last night in a comeback win against NY Lightning he finished with 20 points on 9/12 from the field. He also tallied 9 rebounds.
2020 Maliq Carr | The Family
One of the main reason The Family out of Detroit won on the opening night of the EYBL circuit because of the hard playing services from Carr. The Family found themselves down by double digits in the second half but Carr had many hustle plays that kept The Family from never giving up. He was living on the boards as he hauled in 8 and I would guess half of those were on the offensive side. He went 6/6 from the field fishing with 14 points. Carr definitely goes down as one of the hardest playing players I have seen so far this spring.
2020 Earl Timberlake | Team Durant
Talk about hard playing players, Earl Timberlake is always in that conversation. The junior out of DeMatha Catholic is back on the EYBL circuit playing with Team Durant. His opening night was a thing of beauty as he scored 21 points on 8/13 from the field. His Durant team goes through him and that is the way Earl wants it. He can get to the rim basically whenever he wants because of his strength and his shot keeps on becoming more and more consistent. Look for him to carry this Durant team and as he does so, his stat sheet will becoming more and more filled.
2020 Tommy Murr | Alabama Fusion
The 8th ranked player in the state of Alabama was eye popping from the start of his game against Team Durant. The quick facilitating guard displayed some great court vision and some tremendous no look passes. While he put up 20 points in a win last night, he was efficient in doing so. He looks to also score at the line as he got there on five different occasions in the contest and shot 80% from the charity stripe. Right now he only has two low major offers but if he keeps this type of play up, we could maybe see his recruitment jump a level.
