Continue ReadingAtlanta, Georgia – The 4th annual Tip Off Classic is finally here and the schedule was released earlier today (subject to change). The Tip Off Classic is becoming one of the top non-live period events in the country and especially in the southeast region of the country. The super showcase brings many of the top shoe sponsored and non-shoe sponsored grassroots programs in the southeast (Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, South Carolina, and North Carolina) together right before the live period every year for the last couple of years.
This year’s event will feature shoe sponsored programs like Nike EYBL Athlete’s of Tomorrow (GA), Adidas Gauntlet Game Elite (FL), UAA Atlanta Xpress (GA), Adidas Gauntlet Atlanta Celtics (GA), Adidas Gauntlet Team Loaded (NC), Nike EYBL Nightrydas Elite (FL), and plenty more. Some of the top non-shoe sponsored teams in the event this year will include AJ Bouye Ellite (GA), Team South Carolina (SC), Georgia Knights, and more.
The matchups, which again are subject to change throughout the week, will be fun to watch this weekend and should have the gyms filled to the max. One matchup we could expect this weekend will include a junior matchup between 2020 SG Brandon Boston Jr. and 2020 F Scottie Barnes. Another key matchup in the 2020 class will feature 2020 PG Sharife Cooper against 2020 PG Deivon Smith, one of the nations emerging prospects.
The 16U field will also feature a plethora of talent. 2021 W Matthew Cleveland, 2021 PG Peyton Daniels, 2021 F Jabari Smith Jr., 2020 PG Danny Stubbs, 2021 C Lynn Kidd, 2021 SG Garrison Powell, and others are expected to be in action. One key matchup we could expect in the 16U field will feature Jabari Smith Jr. and Lynn Kidd, two of the top emerging prospects in the country and two of the best bigs in their class.
We are also in for a treat in the 15U field as well. Prospects like 2022 PG Sterling “Scoota” Henderson, 2022 PG Dillon Hunter, 2022 PG Demari Henderson, 2022 SG Jett Howard, 2022 PG Jacari Henderson, 2022 PG Bruce Thornton Jr., and more will be in action this weekend in Atlanta.
So many games, so many prospects, the gyms in the Gwinnett County area will be filled with media outlets all around. Again, this year’s event might be the deepest in terms of talent in the gym and this weekend will be pretty interesting. Remember, the schedule could change as the week goes along and you can download the “tip off classic” app for updates and more.
