Hess is going to be a team that can easily switch it up and will attack teams from the inside-out. They are well coached, disciplined and have a group of guys that are all capable of exploding at any given moment. Check them out:
Lian Ramiro — 6’0 – Grandview High School – 2020 – Jersey No. 11
Bryson Stephens – 6’4 – Arapahoe High School -2020 – Jersey No. 23
Dominic Nellis – 5’11 — Holy Family – 2020 – Jersey No. 2
Cade Coles 6’4 – Grandview – 2020 – Jersey No. 12
Isaac Tesfaye 6’6 – Cherokee Trail – 2020 – Jersey No. 7
Dayne Prim 6’6 — Grandview High School – 2019 – Jersey No. 5
Korey Hess 6’0 – Arapahoe – 2020 – Jersey No. 13
Parker Nelson – 6’4 – Cherokee Trail – Jersey No. 18
Sufyan Elkannan – Legend High School 2019 6’5 Jersey No. 5
Just taking a look at this roster this team is one that is built for balance. This is a team that fits every single kind of build that you can possibly throw at them. They can play a fast paced, high scoring game and run teams out of the gym and also have a disciplined bunch that can beat you in a slow it down and grind it out type of way. They have speed and size and that is what makes this group unique. The first names that pop out is the dynamic duo from Grandview. Prim is a 1stTeam All-State big man that brings toughness and skill. He has one of the best back to the basket and half-court games because he has good footwork, a set of go to moves and is very confident with the ball in his hands. He is tough defensively and as complete of a all-around player as the state has to offer. Alongside him is Ramiro who is a playmaker that excels with the ball in his hands. He is an elite passer and ball handler with a high IQ. He makes it easier for others around him and is a shot creator that also knocks down shots from outside. This will be a big year for him and it starts with having a solid summer.
The X-Factors on this team are Elkannan and Tesfaye.
Tesfaye is a double-double machine ready to happen. When he is locked in and focused there are not many guys that can hang with him. He has a high motor, improved on is interior scoring this past year and rebounds at a high level. Having his scoring punch and relying on him for games to provide offense and energy will go a long way.
It is going to be interesting to see Elkannan in a new role. For Legend he was the heart and soul of the team as he is a versatile wing with great strength. He can score in the paint and finishes well at the rim. He has a quick first step that makes it easier to take bigger guys off of the dribble and a nice feel down low. Having him alongside Tesfaye and Prim down low sometimes with their ability to past from the post will make this team that much better.
This is a solid team with great balance.
Keep an eye on Bryson Stephenson and Parker Nelson to turn a few heads as well this summer.
